"I came home from a weekend trip to find my house very warm. I called Mike with TXT Home Services based on some very favorable reviews from people I trust in my neighborhood. Mike sent a technician out and found that my refrigerant line had been accidentally cut by our landscape contractors trimming hedges. Mike gave me various potions and after a thorough investigation of my complete system, I made the call to replace it all. I got a very fair price and the crew came out the next day and replaced the entire unit. It was a professional job-install crew worked hard and cleaned up completely. I am very happy with the service and price that I got from Mike and his crew. I will recommend them to whoever I know that needs a reasonable honest AC contractor! Job well done!"

"Eric gave me a very competitive quote for AC Duct installation. Most AC companies declined to quote this job due to the extreme temps of my attic in the summer. Eric was happy to do it on a 95 degree day! He got it done on time and within budget. He was prompt and very professional. I'd highly recommend his services ; )"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

They can have a deterrent effect on birds to some extent. The reflective surfaces of these objects, such as aluminum foil strips, CDs, or reflective tape, create flashes of light and movement that can startle or confuse birds temporarily. However, some birds can become accustomed to these visual disturbances over time and might adapt their behavior accordingly. For a more sustained solution, combining shiny objects with other deterrent methods shared here is often beneficial for creating a more comprehensive and effective strategy for bird control.

The most common wasps are hornets, yellowjackets, and paper wasps. Both hornets and yellowjackets are black and yellow, and hornets are known to be more aggressive if their nests are disturbed. Paper wasps are black or reddish-brown with yellow markings and often build nests on eaves or branches. Of the more than 300,000 species of wasps, these are the most often encountered by pest control professionals.

Adult fleas can live from a few days to about two weeks without a host. If pets are not available, fleas may feed on rodents or people. While adult fleas need a blood source to survive, flea pupae can lie dormant for up to a year in optimal conditions. Therefore, cleaning and treating the infested area is essential to prevent pupae from surviving and hatching later.

Finding mouse droppings without seeing any mice is a common sign of an infestation because mice are nocturnal and skilled at hiding from humans. Droppings are often the first and most visible evidence of their presence. The location, quantity, and freshness of the droppings can help you determine where the mice are most active and how severe the infestation might be. Since mice are active at night and often travel through hidden pathways like inside walls, you may not see them directly. It's important to look for other signs of an infestation, such as gnaw marks, scratching sounds, or greasy trails along walls. If you find droppings, consider setting traps or contacting a professional exterminator to address the issue.

No, mulch itself does not necessarily attract termites even though it’s usually made of shredded wood. Some types of mulch like cedar or cypress resist termites because they’re toxic or unappetizing to the wood munchers. However, when the mulch is deep enough, say three inches or more, it creates a perfect habitat for insects of all kinds to build nests.
