"A Norton Painting returned all my calls, showed up on time, workers completed job on time and they were reasonably priced. I found them to be easy to work with, honest. We hired them to sand, stain and polyurethane our pew benches. They covered and protected our floors and carpet nicely and cleaned up after themselves. I would hire them again."

"I recently hired BNR Paint for a full interior and exterior painting job on my home, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! From the initial consultation to the final touches, their team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, skill, and attention to detail. The consultation process was seamless, with the project manager offering valuable insights and recommendations that truly enhanced the final look of my home. The painters were punctual, courteous, and incredibly meticulous. They took great care to protect my furniture and flooring, ensuring everything was left spotless at the end of each day. "When it came time to paint the interior of our home, the FIRST and ONLY company I called for an estimate was Cleanpower and Painting Corp. A few years ago, they painted the exterior of our home, and we were so pleased with the results that I vowed to call them when we were ready to paint the interior. Lisa Tuffy is such a pleasure to work with -- so kind, professional, punctual, and straight-forward. She is honest and straight-forward in her estimates and in all of her communications before the during the job. We had planned our painting project for a few months, and it just so happened that it was scheduled to start right at the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. We had moved out of our house for other renovations as well as the painting, and Lisa was able to double-up her crew and get the job done quickly so that we could move back into our home before things began closing. They painted our ceilings, walls, doors, and baseboards. Everything was done to perfection! Our home looks beautiful! We will certainly call Cleanpower and Painting Corp for any painting jobs we do in the future."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

It’s a good idea to sand your porch before painting. This will remove loose or chipped paint and debris, and give you a cleaner surface so that your new paint goes on smoothly. But if the existing surface is in good condition, it’s not necessary to sand your porch before you paint.

To remove painted-over hinges for replacement or paint removal, you should use a utility knife to score around the edges of the hinges gently. Work very carefully so as not to damage the surrounding area. From there, you can unscrew the hinges and gently pry them off the door, making sure not to bend the metal.

Distilled white vinegar can help you remove candle wax from surfaces like countertops. You’ll need to scrape off most of the wax and use the distilled white vinegar to help soften and remove the rest and leftover residue. Keep in mind that while it’s possible, using distilled white vinegar isn’t an effective method for removing wax compared to the methods listed above.

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.

First off, take a breath. The good news is that interior paint, especially when used outside, won’t harm your health. The bad news is that you’re going to have to reapply the proper exterior paint at some point in the not-so-distant future. Otherwise the current coat will chip, crack, and fade, or worse, develop mold or an insect infestation without remediation.
