Customers say: True professional

"I cannot tell you how fortunate we were to be introduced to Holland Concrete LLC by one of our neighbors. We had an unsightly crack in our driveway which was becoming worse each month. Every time I pulled into my driveway, I felt like I was neglecting my house. Holland Concrete cut out and removed the crumbling chunks and pieces of my driveway and made my old drive way look SO much better. The fix included rebar and also metal pins that reinforced the new concrete. This company does quality work and they were surprisingly affordable. We were so impressed with the experience, that we had them add a trash bin pad alongside our home that turned out just as good. I totally recommend this company. They do full driveways, walkways, and lanai foundations around pools. Get an estimate, you won’t be sorry."

"Ron is a fantastic jack-of-all-trades. Ron renovated the roof of our large old pole barn and put in a concrete floor. We were very pleased with the work and he gave us the most competitive estimate - and then stuck to that estimate! We had the unfortunate luck that a large tree fell in our barn soon after completion. What re the chances!? We again hired Ron - this time to clear the tree and repair the (now severely damaged) pole barn. Trust him entirely! His work is great and he is easy to communicate with."

Small jobs welcome

"After Hurricane Helene, our backyard was completely destroyed—grass wiped out, ground shifted, and constant flooding every time it rained. We spoke with multiple contractors, but none came close to the professionalism, clarity, and responsiveness we received from Leslie Monroy and the team at Englewood Hardscaping, LLC. Leslie proposed a smart and effective drainage and grading solution at a very fair price and was able to schedule the work quickly. Within days, the crew was on-site, and they completely transformed our backyard. Their work was not only high-quality and efficient, but their communication was excellent from start to finish. Englewood Hardscaping consistently went above and beyond our expectations. Of all the contractors we’ve had to work with in the aftermath of the hurricane, none have been as professional, reliable, or pleasant as this team. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and can’t recommend them highly enough."

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

It will likely take an experienced pro less than an hour to install a ground rod, which is another reason why letting them handle the job is such a good idea. Safety concerns aside, it would likely take you much longer to install a ground rod if you decided to take this one as a DIY job.

There are a few things you can ask welders before you hire them to get an idea of their experience and ability levels:

  • Are you licensed and certified?

  • How long have you been in the welding business?

  • Do you commonly do the type of welding I need?

  • Do you offer any kind of warranty for your work?

  • Do you charge by the hour or by the project?

  • How long do you expect my welding project to take?

  • What steps do you take to minimize errors in your work?

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

Welding is the process of using extreme heat—and, sometimes, pressure—to attach two pieces of metal. In contrast, metal fabrication is a more involved process that can include welding, sheet metal work, bending, and other forms of metal manipulation. Metal fabrication is a large-scale project that may or may not involve welding, while welding is more often a step in larger fabrication projects.

Yes, you can cut up a box spring., but you’ll need to do so in layers. You can clear the fabric and fluff away to reveal the springs before removing them as well.
