"Independent Glass – A Costly and Frustrating Experience I Wouldn’t Wish on Anyone I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience with Independent Glass to help others make an informed decision. What was supposed to be a straightforward mirror installation turned into a stressful, damaging ordeal. I hired Independent Glass to install a large wall mirror using panels they supplied, and to cut and install two separate bathroom mirrors that I provided. The wall installation was sloppy from the start: the panels were uneven, staggered, and visibly misaligned. Even more concerning, several panels began detaching and falling off the wall the same afternoon they were installed—a serious safety hazard that required immediate removal. What was left behind is deeply frustrating: my wall is now covered in thick, hardened globs of mastic adhesive. The space I once took pride in is now damaged and unsightly, and will require professional repair. To make matters worse, the two bathroom mirrors I provided were cut too short to be usable. Four days ago, Independent Glass came to retrieve the mirrors—presumably to recut or correct the issue. I reached out for an update two days ago, but have yet to receive a response. And despite everything—the poor workmanship, the safety risks, the property damage, the lack of communication—I still have not been refunded my deposit. This experience has been disappointing, exhausting, and frankly, avoidable. All I expected was a professional service and clear communication. Instead, I’m left with damaged walls, missing mirrors, and silence from a company that should be taking accountability. If you value quality, safety, and integrity, I strongly encourage you to consider another provider."

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.

There is no blanket number when it comes to glass thickness for soundproofing. Thicker glass does help reduce noise, but it’s only part of the solution.
