"Hard-working young man. Arrived as agreed and worked until we had gone through all of the contents of my garage. Came with a U-Haul trailer and took off anything I didn’t want. If you need someone to help you with the heavy lifting and motivation to clean out a room or garage, Jimmy is a great choice."

"Needed sod and pea gravel installed for our backyard. Also our existing sprinkler system was broken. Steven called and set up an appointment for a quote. He was courteous, professional, and on time. Other (pros?) from home advisor didn’t even call, or were late/no show for quotes. We hired Cali Palms and are very happy with the service, follow up, and overall experience. Steven did everything he said he’d do, and provided samples prior to installing. We had an issue with one sprinkler head, and he personally came out the next morning and fixed it. Project was done on time, price was fair, and it looks beautiful. I would definitely hire again!"

"I highly recommend Kyle for junk removal and hauling services. During our home remodeling project, we had a large amount of debris, unwanted items, and materials that needed to be hauled away, and Kyle was a tremendous help throughout the process. He is reliable, dependable, and always follows through on what he says he will do. He showed up when scheduled, worked efficiently, and made the entire process stress-free. His pricing was fair and upfront, with no surprises, and he took the time to explain everything before the job began. What really stands out about Kyle is his attention to detail and strong work ethic. He takes pride in doing the job right and makes sure everything is cleaned up and taken care of properly. He is honest, professional, easy to communicate with, and someone you can trust. We’ve used his services multiple times and have always been pleased with the results. If you’re looking for someone who is hardworking, reasonably priced, and dependable, I would highly"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Lead removal is crucial in older homes to eliminate risks of lead poisoning, which can severely affect health, particularly in children, by impacting development and cognitive functions.

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.

While the EPA provides guidelines for homeowners to perform DIY lead paint removal, it is a risky process and generally not recommended due to serious health risks and strict regulatory requirements. The process requires precise safety precautions, such as wearing a respirator and protective eyeglasses, creating sealed exits, and using a HEPA vacuum for cleanup. To ensure the job is done safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations, it is highly recommended to hire a professional lead abatement company. Certified professionals have the necessary training, experience, and specialized equipment (like chemical strippers and HEPA vacuums) to handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.

If lead is detected in a property, steps should include arranging for professional removal or containment, notifying all occupants, and implementing interim safety measures to reduce exposure.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.
