"Terra Pavers does amazing work. Before, my driveway was simply painted concrete and asphalt. They came in and installed the most beautiful brick pavers, and now my driveway looks a million times better. Jeanette was always available when I had a question or needed an update on the project. No matter what time it was, she always responded promptly."

"Calvin contacted me within an hour of my request on Angi. He arranged a time to meet with me to give me an estimate on my tree removal. He was on time and had a pleasant personality. He gave me a reasonable quote and was able to perform the removal at that time. He and his son were quick and professional and made sure the area was clean. I would definitely recommend him and will be hiring him for future projects."

"We couldn’t be happier! The driveway looks beautiful!! Robert is a great guy to work with. Very reliable. Does exactly what he says he’s going to do. He even answers his phone! The job was quick, and tidy and the crew was friendly and had a great attitude. They paid so much attention to detail. I am so glad we found this guy. I will absolutely use him for the next job!"

"I would have liked more info than just a quote. There is shifting in the brick, I never knew that would happen. The bricks should be sealed, I was never told. I now need that service done. As a customer I gather info and expect professional advice.. The installation went well, they showed up on time and finished on schedule."

"I hired Francisco to repair a damaged entrance to the front of my house. Over the years the step chipped and looked terrible. I have paid other people to come and repair it in the past, but it would always break again. Francisco suggested I do something different and repair it correctly. He did a fantastic job. I then had him correct imperfections in my driveway and change a little bit of the slope at the end of the driveway so that when we pull in, we didn’t bottom out . Francisco and his team did a great job."

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

Regular inspection for issues like cracks or leaning and ensuring drainage stays clear.

Railroad ties can be good for retaining walls, but it depends on the area. They have a desirable rustic look and are durable. The problem is they’re treated with creosote, a preservative the EPA says poses a risk to humans and wildlife. Over time, the preservative seeps out of the wood and into the ground. Many areas have banned the use of creosote-treated wood on residential properties. If your area does allow it, never use railroad ties near an edible garden or drinking water source. Instead, use wood that’s treated with an EPA-approved preservative or a wood-alternative composite material.

Sand and gravel are two suitable options for filling behind a retaining wall. If you’re building your own retaining wall, you’ll complete this part of the process—known as backfilling—after you finish laying the blocks. Make sure not to skip it—otherwise, you could wind up with drainage issues, which can cause your retaining wall to collapse.

While vinyl is the least costly material for building a retaining wall, the most cost-effective method is to use wood or concrete blocks for a DIY retaining wall under 2 feet tall. Wood is inexpensive but lasts 20 years or more with care. Concrete can cost a little more but is stronger and will last longer with less maintenance.

They prevent soil erosion, add flat space, and enhance property aesthetics.
