"Great company to work with if you have ANY water issues at all in your home. We purchased the biggest bundle and could not be happier. Our water is softer, meaning I have to scrub the showers less (YAY!) and our drinking water is safer. 10/10 would recommend."

"I needed to have my water heater replaced, as requested by my insurance company. These guys came in and did everything for a very fair price and were polite and hard working. I will use them again."

"C&B Plumbing did great work. I thought we had a much bigger issue with our plumbing than we ended up having. They made sure to check all the boxes and verify that we did not have a leak, all while making sure to be as minimally invasive on our walls and plumbing as possible. They were very courteous and quick to respond. We will definitely be hiring them again for potential future issues!"

"At the recommendation of a friend I called Mr. Ken Havard on his cell phone at 7am and explained I had a leak from somewhere behind my kitchen wall.  The sheetrock and cabinets were wet and water was seeping up in between the tiles through the grout.  He told me he had a full morning but would get to me as soon as possible.  He called earlier than I expected and met me at home.  He and his employee couldn't have been more professional.  He cut the back of the cabinet out under the sink and traced the problem to 60-year-old galvanized and copper pipes which needed to be replaced.  This was a quick fix today but I'll be using him to repair/replace all of the disintegrating pipe in the kitchen walls and under the house.  He was good about showing me everything he was seeing and explaining what was going on.  As a single woman, I really appreciate this.  He also showed me what was in good shape didn't need to be replaced.  For 2 hours he worked (and prayed under his breath that he wouldn't find anything worse), cleaned up beautifully and presented me with a very reasonable bill for the amount of work he performed.  I'm very pleased and highly recommend him.

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

The right way to vent a gas water heater is to have a pipe directly upward or slopes upward out of the house. Because hot air naturally rises, this type of venting will efficiently ensure that all gas moves out of the house. Your system may rely on fans or blowers as well.

A leaking water heater could potentially last for a few weeks or months before you need to repair it. However, it's not advisable to wait too long. Once your water heater starts leaking, it's likely that the underlying cause of the leak is getting worse as time goes on. Without immediate repair, your water heater could fail. Instead of using a leaky water heater, you should turn it off and call a pro to fix it.

Examples include gas stoves, ovens, and water heaters. Confirm with your provider for specific items.

You should replace your gas water heater when it’s reached the end of its lifespan, which is a maximum of 12 years in most cases. If your unit is over a decade old and showing signs of inefficiency, leaks, or frequent malfunctions, it may be time to replace your water heater. Research how to best maintain your gas water heater to help extend its lifespan.

Most standard residential water heaters, which are typically around 40 gallons and use 240 volts and between 3,500 and 5,500 watts, require a 30-amp, two-pole circuit breaker. For smaller, point-of-use water heaters using 120 volts and between 1,500 and 3,000 watts, a 30-amp breaker is also often adequate. However, some models may have different needs; units that use more watts than average may require a 40-amp breaker, while smaller units might only need a 20-amp breaker. Newer, tankless, or more energy-efficient models can also require a higher amperage. Having the correct breaker size is crucial for safe and efficient operation, so it's best to consult a licensed electrician to determine the specific needs of your water heater.
