"I had a new fan installed on my porch and then a new electrical panel in the garage. The young man who did the work, Chris Morals and eventually another employee whose name was Joe helped with this long hard job were both very polite, hard working, knowledgeable of their work (good salesmen too) and stayed until the job was done. Had some issues and Chris refused to leave until the job was completed. They were here from noon till nine at night. No complaints, just kept smiling and doing their job. I've read other reviews, some good some bad and I only hope mine stays one of the good ones. As of today, I would recommend them highly especially my two guys. Let's hope all they did continues to work because if it doesn't, I'll let everyone know!"

"Caught him at a great time, from the time of the call to the completion of the job (ceiling fan removal, remote and replacement) was two hours. Just a polite gentleman who upon running into some minor problems sailed through same. Cleaned up and replaced the table and chairs, all for a very reasonable fee. Will use again!! Naples based."

"Priced right. Showed up exactly on time. Had all of the tools he needed. Licensed and insured. Clearly was experienced in installing a ceiling fan. Paid with Zelle. In the era of scams and crappy workmanship, he was truely a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend!"

"They are not cheap, but you usually get what you pay for with electricians. They were prompt and did nice work. We have two more things for them to complete, but we re waiting to receive a ceiling fan that was damaged and a light fixture bracket that was missing from the box and we will be finished. I would hire them again if needed!"

"The work I needed was more complicated due to my sloping ceiling and missing remote control from my package. The two technicians did not leave until the work was complete....and kept a very pleasant demeanor throughout, despite the challenges and unexpected "supplies" I needed which, fortunately, they had on their very professional vehicle with trailer. I definitely will call on them again."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Installing a ceiling fan where no wiring exists is a difficult and potentially dangerous job that should not be attempted as a DIY project. It is recommended to hire a certified electrician to build the necessary electrical infrastructure. In some areas, building codes require this work to be done by a professional to ensure safety and compliance. Due to the complexity, this type of installation is a significant job that could cost up to $2,000.

If you’re replacing an old fixture with a ceiling fan, you usually won’t need a permit, but if your electrician runs new wiring for the fixture, you likely will need a permit. Building permits are necessary in most municipalities if you’re making changes to your electrical system, so even if you have partial wiring run to the area and need new wiring installed for added functionality, you’ll probably need a permit. Your electrician should be able to let you know if you need one, and they’ll typically file the paperwork for you.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.

Whether you can install a ceiling fan yourself depends on if you're replacing an existing fixture or installing one where no wiring exists. If you are replacing an existing fan, an experienced DIYer may be able to do the job, which can save on labor costs. This work typically doesn’t require a permit, but there’s always a safety risk when dealing with electrical components, so hiring a pro is still a good idea, especially if you aren't handy. Keep in mind you may need a special ladder for high or vaulted ceilings. However, if you are installing a new ceiling fan where there is no current fixture, you must hire a licensed electrician. In most areas, it is required by law that a professional runs new wiring and pulls the necessary permits. Attempting to install wiring yourself can be dangerous and a code violation.

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.
