"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m so happy with the work Landscape Designs By Ronnie, Inc did! They were friendly, reliable, and really paid attention to the details. My Clusia hedge has never looked better, and it shows the pride in what Ronnie and his crew do. I’ll definitely be using them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great landscaping company, without reservation."

"We have used Shelley Crawford’s landscaping company, Butterflies are Free, on several projects at two different residential properties. Shelley and her team are always on time and on budget. Her ideas are creative, and her workers are extremely diligent whether installing new plants or trimming existing ones. We have finally found the landscaper we need for South Florida and recommend her highly to our friends."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Most bamboo can send roots down two to three feet into the ground. However, when stopping bamboo from spreading, the focus is on the runner roots or rhizomes. These roots are much shallower, staying 12 inches or less from the surface, so they’re easier to find and remove. But if you want to remove the bamboo entirely, you’ll have to dig out the full root system.

Monkey grass isn’t too picky when it comes to light conditions: It needs sun but prefers partial shade. While it can tolerate full sun, it thrives in environments with partial shade (around four to six hours of sunlight per day). The black mondo grass variety is the most tolerant of heat from direct sunlight.

It is for the purpose of protecting them from hail because you’ll be removing it soon after the threat is over. However, plastic or vinyl tarps aren’t recommended as a long-term way of protecting your plants from frost because they’ll trap too much moisture inside, which is actually not a good thing for your plants. But in the short term, it’s fine to use even an overturned garbage can to protect a plant from hail.

The best place to plant a rose bush is where it will be happiest. Growing roses is difficult if the location varies much from what the plants like. Choose a location that gets at least six hours of direct sunlight during the growing season but not much more than that in hot-climate locations. If such a spot doesn't exist in your yard, consider planting your rose in a movable container to take advantage of portability.

Don’t worry if there’s a gap between cutting and planting an ideal branch. You can still cut the perfect branch when you see it. If you can’t get it in a pot or water right away, put it in a zip-top bag in the refrigerator. When you’re ready to finish the process, make a fresh cut.
