"Jaime at J. Z. Star Flooring did a remarkable job on a very difficult floor. They sealed our concrete to protect it from moisture and laid a beautiful large porcelain tile throughout the entire house including all closets, laundry as well as the kitchen. They immediately fixed any imperfections we came up with. The workers were courteous, punctual and cleaned up every evening before leaving. It was a pleasure to watch professionals at work."
"The job went off without a hitch. He got it all done despite having to deal with some afternoon rain showers. My wife can spot something that is not level from across the room was thrilled with all the work. We are both very happy with the results and love our new laundry room. "
"I needed a driveway replace because of some large cracks in the concrete one that we had. I took prices from some angies list contractor and some homeadvisor contactors, I saw this company working in my neighbor hood and ask the supervisor for a price. The price was a little higher that the one I had received but the did such a good job on the driveway down the street that I went with them. The did an excellent job so I the had them do my flat roof because they are also roofing contractors"
"Dan is the definition of a professional contractor / handy man and I was very happy with the end result. I had a very unique situation where the previous owners of my condo had a huge 9 foot Murphy bed / cabinets custom installed and mounted on a living room wall. It was bolted to the wall in dozens of different places and was even glued to the wall in some areas as well. With it's huge size, the only way to get it through the front door was to take it down in pieces. However, Dan was up to the challenge and somehow managed to remove everything faster than I expected. Dan arrived exactly on time and came well prepared as he brought every tool imaginable, including a saw as he had to cut this huge wall mounted Murphy bed / shelves into pieces to get it through the front door. With decades of experience, Dan is clearly a seasoned professional and I was not surprised by his superior level of service given all the 5 start reviews I read on Angie's list before hiring him. He always quick to make recommendations and point out things I wasn't aware of throughout the entire process and he was very respectful about not damaging anything / cleaning up. On top of that, his price was incredibly reasonable for the level of services performed as it was priced very competitively compared to 2-3 other estimates I received. Unlike other contractors that simply "make up" a price for the "estimate", Dan charges by the hour, ensuring the arrangement is most fair for both sides. I only pay for the true # of hours it takes to complete the job and the contractor has more incentive to produce higher quality workmanship since he knows he's getting his full hourly rate. Bottom line, Dan showed up exactly when promised, he did exactly what we agreed upon and his fair pricing structure is simply unbeatable for the end result quality. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone looking for a reputable contractor as his proven track record on Angie's list is the result of hundreds of satisfied customers like myself. "
"Art Remodeling and Construction is overall an outstanding company. I like how very accommodating the technicians are and how they make sure that they give 100% effort to meet the demands of their customers. Amazing job! Great service and friendly staff"
Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.
Concrete leveling can last anywhere from five to 10 years or more, and in some cases, it can be a permanent solution. The longevity depends on the method used and whether the underlying cause of the sinking is addressed. For example, mudjacking typically lasts five to 10 years, while polyjacking can last for 20 years or more. It's best to consult a professional for an accurate timeline based on your specific situation and any factors that could cause the issue to recur.
Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.
Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.
The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.
