"They cut and removed a massive Oak in my backyard. They were early everyday and worked hard the entire time. Charles climbed way way up in the air and painstakingly cut and lowered the entire tree piece by piece then cleaned and raked and blew my yard everyday. Very kind and respectful. They were early everyday.. I would very Highly recommended them"

"Beyond the Blade did an incredible job removing 5 trees, including a very large oak tree that was largely over my house, and a sizable area of bamboo trees. The stumps were ground to perfection and they cleaned up everything after they finished. You will not find a better tree company to hire, and they are reasonable too!"

"We hired Robin and Julio Tree Care to remove two very large trees that were damaging our property. From the day they came out to give us an estimate to the day the crew arrived to remove the trees, they were punctual, professional, and very responsive. Julio and his crew arrived when they said they would and did an excellent job of carefully removing the two large trees. Their team worked hard and had our property looking better than we had imagined it could. We have already recommended their service to friends and family and will be using them again in the future. Thank you!!"

"I have had an EXTREMELY hard time finding reliable, trust worthy, hard working individuals in my area. James and his crew were extremely honest, reliable, kept me updated, and prices and service were hard to beat. If you need any tree services in the area, I HIGHLY suggest this company as you will receive excellent treatment and service. As a side note, I accidentally paid him twice through home advisor and he notified me and sent a check back to me. You WILL NOT find that in this area and he could have run off with $950.00 no questions asked. I will use him in the future and will highly recommend him to anyone looking for tree work. Couldn't be happier with him and his crew."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

Dying trees and even dead trees can spread diseases to other living trees. There are many different types of tree diseases, so it’s essential to address the issue as soon as possible to prevent the disease from spreading to other healthy trees. If the tree cannot be saved and is infected, you need to have it removed to protect the other trees on your property.

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.

You can shape a cherry tree by trimming vertical branches, dense branches, and intersecting branches. Your personal aesthetic comes into play, as well. If you want to simply thin and shape the tree, you can get away with trimming the aforementioned parts of your cherry tree. If you want to shorten branches, however, consider thinning cuts, which alter the length of the branches while encouraging light penetration, new buds and shoots, and a structurally-sound shape.
