"I hired Nelson Yard Services for a property in North Pensacola and for a property in Molino. BJ communicated well and frequently with me, throughout the 3 1/2 days, for the two jobs. He kept me up to date with when he would arrive, any questions he had, anticipated delays, and confirmed my instructions each step of the way. After cutting down the requested trees, they cleaned up all the debris. Both properties were immaculate when they left. I am very pleased with the work performed; and it was a pleasure to deal with them. Highly recommend."

"I will use this tree service for all my tree needs. The entire process was incredibly smooth and the price was exactly what I was quoted. The owners staff was polite and courteous the entire time and made sure I was happy not only with the work completed but also the clean up. I am a single woman and usually have issues with having work done but not here. They were respectful and communicated clearly in all aspects of the job. Will definitely be using again!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.

The cost of professional tree trimming averages $460, with a typical range between $200 and $760. However, prices can be as low as $75 or as high as $1,800 depending on several factors. The size and type of the tree are major cost drivers; for example, trimming Crepe Myrtle trees costs an average of $80 to $400, while trimming giant pine trees can range from $200 to $1,800. Other factors that influence the price include the time of year, as services are often more costly in the spring. The tree's accessibility and your location also play a role, as a remote or hard-to-reach tree may increase the cost. Some professionals may offer a discount if you have multiple trees to trim.

It enhances property aesthetics, improves tree health, and prevents safety hazards.
