Small jobs welcome

Offers commercial services

Hello, My name is Michelle Mitchell. I was born and raised here in Pensacola, FL. I own Michelle Mitchell's Deep Cleaning. I started over 12 years ago with a couple of residential clients until I acquired an Apartment community cleaning their vacant units. Word of mouth spread like wildfire and after 2 years I had 5 Apartment communities. And with that I had 14 employees. That is what hard work and a keen EYE FOR DETAIL will get you. However after 5 years of employee turnovers, no call no shows and every excuse for not coming to work, I decided to scale it back down. I ended up with 2 Apartment properties and 1 employee. I recently decided to scale it down again and just work by myself and clean a few single residential homes. The stress level is down and I am not relying on anyone but myself. I am the only person I can trust with my reputation to do an immaculate cleaning job and have 100% customer satisfaction. Thank you for reading.\nI hope to hear from you soon.

"Patrick and Tyler did an excellent job installing our fireplace. They were professional and worked tirelessly all day. They truly went above and beyond, and I highly recommend them. We just bought a house in the area, and I can only hope all businesses we deal with are of this quality."

"Scheduling went well and they did everything they said they were going to do. They gave us an evaluation and report after the inspection. However, we have never used the fireplace so we are not sure if what they did was effective. But, they did not leave any mess behind and they were professional."

"Once I had bought the deal on Angie's List, I received instructions via email to call Frontpoint directly to set it up. I called and spoke to Oscar, and the process was very smooth.  The email contained some order codes that let Oscar know exactly what I had purchased, and setup was quick from there.  He ran a credit check to confirm eligibility (it's a 3-yr contract), then had me set my intial PIN, Safety words, address, and credit card for billing.  That was it.
It took 2 days to assemble my hardware package, and 2 more days for it to arrive.  The sensors, control panel, and manuals came assembled in a really nice flip-top display box.  Everything was numbered in order, like "do this first," etc.  The sensors were all numbered for easy reference.  All batteries were included.   It was really slick.
Setup of the hardware took about a half-hour; I was easily able to do it myself.  The sensors are peel-and-stick; deciding which doors and windows to target took longer than the actual installation.  The fire/smoke alarm is peel-and-stick.  The motion sensor is sitting right on our fireplace mantel.  I hung the control panel using included screws.  Everything is wireless; once the system was turned on, all the sensors were automatically detected.  Did I mention how slick it is?
I called Frontpoint at 10pm, just as they were clothing, and the assiciate was nonetheless very polite.  Activation took minutes.  He walked me through different methods of arming and disarming, and could see my system was responding correctly.  He gave me a 2hr delay in police activation so I could get used to the system without accidentally tripping it.  He even gave me the rest of the month (~5 days) free, and said billing would start at the first of the next month!  I checked my bill, and it's legit.  Again, very slick.
Once it was up and running, I got an email to set up my online account.  The website, contracted through alarm.com, is really nice. You can custom-name your sensors, set up email/text alerts, create additional users/PINs ... really nice.  I downloaded the App for Android, and it's also very nice.  You can arm/disarm and see the recent sensor history.  This, combined with the wireless setup, is WAY MORE than any of my friends have through ADT, Broadview, etc.  My system is the belle of the ball, at lower cost ($99 equipment, no setup fee, $42/mo, killer web functionality, DIY expansion).
So far, the first month has been great.  We left town for a week right after installing it, and gave someone one of the keyfobs so they could check on the house, and their own User PIN for emergencies (which we can deactivate any time).  They had no problems, and the alerts let us know exactly when they came and went (the keyfobs are labeled in the alerts).   The piece of mind is PRICELESS.  I'm glad we set this up before an incident, instead of after.
I hear that additional Z-wave sensors are very easy to add, and available through third parties as well as Frontpoint.  Additional window sensors, water leak sensors, pipe freeze sensors, you name it.  Even home-automation sensors, which can be controlled via the web and phone apps!  I look forward to getting some and trying them out.
Great job (so far) Frontpoint!

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

There is no universal remote that will work for all gas fireplaces or electric models. That’s because different remotes are designed to work with specific fireplace wiring, so some remotes may only work for on/off functions, while others work with fireplaces that have extra settings, such as timers or programmable thermostats. If you need a new remote, ensure the replacement is compatible with your specific fireplace model.

In addition to flashing, a roof cricket can help divert water around your chimney so that it drains properly off your roof. It’s shaped like a double triangle and is installed behind the chimney so that falling water spills evenly down each side. This helps prevent water from accumulating behind your chimney, which can increase water damage and the risk of leaks.

The International Building Code (IBC) requires cricket installation if a chimney built after 2012 measures over 30 inches in width. Chimneys constructed before that date are typically grandfathered in and aren’t required to have crickets installed.

Deciding when to replace your fireplace depends on its condition and your preferences. Replacements may be necessary if your fireplace shows extensive damage, safety issues, or inefficiency. Signs include deteriorating masonry, cracked firebox panels, or a faulty chimney. Aesthetic reasons, such as outdated design, can also drive replacement. Wanting something more sustainable and energy-efficient is another good reason to replace your old fireplace.

The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.

Gas fireplace repair costs an average of $600, but prices can vary widely depending on the issue, parts needed, and service provider. Simple repairs like cleaning or pilot light adjustments may cost between $75 and $200, while more significant repairs involving component replacement can cost $1,000 or more. The overall cost typically falls within the $100 to $2,500 range.

Typical price ranges for repairing different components of a gas fireplace are:

  • Thermocouple: $75 to $350

  • Thermopile: $75 to $350

  • Gas valve: $150 to $300

  • Pilot light: $100 to $350

  • Igniter: $100 to $150

  • Mantel: $500 to $1,200

  • Hearth: $150 to $800
