"I recommend CARA PVD painting without recommendation. Jimmy and his crew painted the entire interior of our 2600 sq. ft. home. I chose CARA PVD from among other contractors in part because his estimate best reflected the time and resources required to do the job right. In addition, they move furniture as part of the job without extra charge! With my back problems that was a must. Many contractors do not provide this service. Jimmy and his crew are meticulous and highly skilled painters. The work was perfect with beautiful results. They cover in plastic every inch of the work area so that not a speck of paint falls on carpet, floors or furniture. They completed the job in five days, one short of the estimate. Jimmy and crew made every effort to ensure that I was satisfied. They provide old-school workmanship at a fair price. I couldn’t ask for more."

"Ed and Amy did interior painting for us last year and we were very pleased. We did not hesitate to call them to give us an estimate to repaint the exterior or our house. They promptly came in February and provided us with a realistic estimate and their schedule was open for April. That worked for us and we agreed to go ahead with them. On day one they pressure treated all the sides of the house. Day two was the prep work of covering windows, etc. Painting started in Wednesday and finished up on Friday including the painting of our front and very large back lanai. Ed and Amy did an excellent job and we are very pleased."

"Premier painting was absolutely fantastic, and I would highly recommend them. The team that came out was superb and their work was almost immaculate. I am a stickler for detail and walked the house every day looking at what was done, and with very few exceptions the crew was catching their few spots missed themselves before I could even say anything. The house looked like new when they were finished. I was selling the house, and it looked so good that my realtor asked for their contact info to give to future clients for paint jobs. The price for the job was reasonable, though not the very cheapest (not the highest either). I was more worried about the quality of the job and reliability of them showing up on team and getting it done on time, which premier did."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

To determine how many rolls of peel-and-stick wallpaper you need, measure the square footage of the walls you’re covering and divide that by the square footage that each roll covers. Add 10% to 20% of your total square footage to account for pattern matching or damage while installing.

Installation typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the wall’s size and site conditions.

It’s possible to hang your own wallpaper, but the process is tedious and potentially frustrating, and it can be challenging to get seams to line up and look clean and professional. Plus, depending on the type of wallpaper you’re installing, using too much or too little adhesive could cause damage to your drywall or plaster, peeling, and bubbling in the final product. It’s usually a better idea to hire a professional wallpaper installer to do the work for you, as the relatively low cost is justifiable, if only to avoid damage to your walls.

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. In addition, if you try to hang new wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper, the adhesive might not stick properly.
