"I read all the great reviews on Jimmy and couldn’t be happier that I made the decision to have him and his team do the work on our house. Jimmy is a true professional and takes pride in his work. His attention to detail and work is meticulous. We had them remove wallpaper, patch holes, and paint the entire house. You cannot tell there was wallpaper there or holes as his work is beautiful. All the lines are perfectly straight which is unreal for what they had to deal with. He was very prompt and professional throughout the process and does things the right way. I will gladly have him do work for us again and will definitely recommend him to others who want the job done right. Actually kind of missed him once he was finished. Great guy and great team. Would give more stars if available."

"I am writing to share my positive experience with Scott from Build Lab Studio LLC, who recently completed a couple of projects for me. Scott provided a detailed quote, was punctual, and maintained a high level of professionalism from beginning to end. The work involved removing a vent and filling it in to match the outside stucco, as well as reinstalling a two-piece marble door sill. I am very happy with both the price and the quality of the completed job. I will definitely call on Scott for future projects and highly recommend his services."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

While peel-and-stick wallpapers require no time to cure, the adhesives for other types of papers will take a day or two to dry and up to three weeks to fully cure. The differences are the type of paper, the type of adhesive, and the humidity and temperature in the space.

White walls are considered a classic and timeless look and will most likely always be in style. A white wall easily blends into any type of home decor style which makes it a suitable option for most homeowners. Another appealing quality about white walls is that if it's not a color someone is going for, the color is easy to paint over.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

The color of the paint, its opacity, and the depth of the texture on the paper all affect how many coats of paint you need to apply to paintable wallpaper. You'll need at least two coats of paint to ensure even coverage. Don’t be surprised if you need to apply three coats if the embossing is very deep or if you use a dark color.

One of the biggest downsides to peel-and-stick wallpaper is that it doesn't last as long as traditional wallpaper. Its lifespan depends on several factors, including the quality of the paper, proper wall preparation and application, and the room's conditions. As a general rule, peel-and-stick wallpaper can last for at least five years, but this can vary significantly. Budget products may only last about 3 years, while higher-quality products can stay up for 7 years or more in ideal conditions. Factors that can shorten its lifespan include high humidity (such as in a bathroom), dirty walls, and low-quality paper. If used on flooring, expect it to last only 1 to 3 years unless sealed. However, the shorter lifespan can be seen as a positive, making it a great choice for people who enjoy switching up their interiors more frequently.
