"Kevin and Marco did a great job installing my new kitchen faucet. They were professional, clean, and took the time to replace my old kitchen drains too, which I really appreciated. Everything came out perfect. I’ll definitely be using them again."

"Romain's Plumbing is the absolute best! We had a very bad leak in our 50 plus year old home that two other plumbers could not fix, pin point nor identify. He was able to troubleshoot and find exactly where the problem was, explain, figure out, fix and repair everything quickly and efficiently. He is honest, trustworthy, hard working, and most of all reliable and fair. This is the number one Plumber in South Florida!"

"He did a smoke test free of charge, which was good. I did feel the prices were on the high side and the person who came out took a high pressure sales approach for hydro cleaning. I felt like if I had not been diligent about asking questions I would have signed up for a service that I did not need."

"Well, except they left the door open and I had a large male peacock in my dining room. Thank goodness I got it out without damage to my house. I don't speak Spanish so communication was somewhat difficult as they spoke only a little English"

Small jobs welcome

"We cannot say enough good things about Home Pros of Miami. We originally hired another plumber to fix a water leak, but the situation only got worse. The previous plumber left us without water and caused significant damage to our home. Feeling overwhelmed, we called Home Pros of Miami, and they came out the very same day. They immediately had their team working to restore our water service and put us on the path to fixing the problem. They repiped our entire home, corrected the previous plumber’s mistakes, and handled everything with exceptional care and expertise. Their quick response, attention to detail, and quality workmanship relieved an incredible amount of stress for our family during a very difficult time. The entire team was knowledgeable, communicative, and genuinely cared about getting the job done right. We’re beyond grateful for their hard work and highly recommend Home Pros of Miami to anyone looking for honest, dependable, and top-quality plumbing services."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Toilet seats have two mounting brackets on the back that accept mounting bolts. The bolts drop through the brackets, through two small holes on the top of your toilet, and then receive nuts to hold them in place on the bottom of the toilet. If you can’t see the bolt heads, you might need to pry up the mounting bracket cover, which is a plastic piece that hides and protects the bolts.

Putting caulk around a toilet’s base where it touches the flooring can help hold the toilet in place. A more effective way is using caulk with plastic shim wedges. Place the shims underneath the base to steady and stabilize the toilet. Add some caulk to help keep the shims in place and provide a stronger and more lasting stabilization effect.

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.

A running toilet is not a plumbing emergency, but you will want to try some DIY fixes or call in a plumber to prevent wasting gallons of water. The three most common causes of a running toilet are a broken or dirty flapper, an incorrectly sized chain between the flush lever and flapper, or a float that is out of position.

The amount of water wasted when a toilet ghost flushes depends on the cause of the ghost flushing. Leaky flapper valves tend to waste less water than a larger problem like a damaged flush valve that makes the toilet run constantly. Even if you don’t think you’re wasting a lot of water, it’s still a problem that should be fixed quickly.
