Emergency services offered

"I hired PHD builders to remodel my kitchen and master bathroom. Carlos and his crew were incredibly professional. I felt Carlos was straightforward, honest, communicative, fairly priced and had plenty of insightful feedback and suggestions during the entire remodel. His team was timely, efficient and the end product was more than I had hoped for. I have recommended this company to several friends now and highly recommend them to anyone considering home-improvement/remodeling."

"Remodeled 3 rooms, added a bathroom, and a small kitchen. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. They listened to what I wanted and delivered. Yes, I would recommend. They did things that I didn't know I needed or wanted like they made sure to clean up and leave everything orderly for the next day. Removed piles of trash in a timely manner. It's the little things that go a long way like closing the gate behind them whenever they entered and left. Responded to my every call and explained in detail whenever I had a question. Very professional at all times. Made me feel like I can trust them. I'm highly satisfied with the work completed and I am looking forward to my next project."

Garages questions, answered by experts

Single and double garage doors have pros and cons, but it's all based on personal preference regarding which one is better for you. Two single garage doors give you more control over airflow entering your garage but double the system, which means double the upkeep cost.

On the other hand, two-car double garage doors are more convenient but can stop you from leaving if a piece of hardware malfunctions.

Garage cabinets are different from interior cabinets because they typically hold heavier tools and face more extreme temperature changes since they’re outside your heating and cooling system. For that reason, many homeowners opt for heavy-duty cabinet materials, like metal or steel. However, wood cabinets also work well in a garage for storing lighter items like garden supplies, protective gear, and small tools.

If you open your garage manually, you don’t need sensors. If you have an automatic garage door opener, sensors are required by law. The federal law UL 325 mandates that all residential garage door openers in the U.S. must include sensors. Designed to prevent accidents and reduce the risk of entrapment, the sensors should be able to reverse the motion of the garage door within two seconds of detecting an obstruction. The sensors are there to keep you, your family, and your belongings safe from a door that might otherwise come down too hard or too fast.

There are several reasons garage door cables can come off multiple times. The most common reason is that the springs have too much or too little tension and require adjusting. Other causes include track alignment issues that keep the door from operating correctly or smoothly. A damaged winding drum or obstructions in the cable's way can also cause it to come loose.

Fiberglass is considered a favorite garage insulation choice due to its combination of affordability, ease of installation, and overall effectiveness. Fiberglass provides good thermal resistance, helping regulate garage temperatures and minimize heat transfer. Additionally, fiberglass is moisture-resistant, reducing the risk of mold or mildew formation.
