"I called and he was at my home within 45 min. My washer line was clogged and backing back up in my laundry work. Julian went on roof to clean my drain. we checked it and it seemed to work. He left and i did a load and it backed up again. I called him and he came right back. He snaked the laundry line and we check ed 3 times before he left. He did not charge me to come back and fix the problem. I have used my washer 3 times and no problem. I would highly recommend Julian."

"Claude called immediately after contacting ANJI and scheduled to come by the next morning. Vinnie arrived at 9am as scheduled, assessed the problem and had everything in his van to replace/repair it. He was very professional and cleaned up afterward. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely use them in the future for any plumbing issue and will recommend to family and friends."

"Like all perfectly timed plumbing issues our tub drain clogged to a full stop on a Sunday evening right as everyone was preparing to start the new week. I attempted to remove the blockage myself but was defeated by what I would soon discover was a festering ball of evil in our pipes, quietly waiting to ruin the weekend. I reached out to a few pros and got a prompt call back from Scott soon afterward. He was completely up front about his pricing and availability, which I greatly appreciated. He showed up a few hours later, on time as we had planned and quickly got to work. The amount of hair that was removed from the drain was so large that it probably could have been used to keep a bald man's head warm on a cold winter day here in NJ. Thankfully once he completed the job my tub was draining better than it ever had. I'm glad that I was able to hire A+ Drain Cleaner for this job. Scott is honest, dependable, clean, and most importantly gets the job done. I'll surely be hiring him again the next time my drain monster decides to pay us a visit. I couldn't have asked for a better experience."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Septic tanks can clog if they aren’t pumped every few years since solid waste accumulates inside of them. Your tank might also clog if you have a habit of flushing anything other than human waste or toilet paper. Items like diapers, baby wipes, paper towels, cat litter, and personal hygiene products should never go down your pipes.

The cost to clean a sewer line is about $370, ranging from about $190 to $550 on average. The specific cleaning method and the problem's severity will impact the project's overall cost. Some of the most common sewer line cleaning methods include:

  • Snaking or rodding: $100–$250

  • Hydrojetting: $350–$600

  • Chemical treatments: $600–$1,000

  • Repair or replacement: $1,000–$7,500

Start by unscrewing the overflow valve, which is located on the wall of your tub between the floor drain and the tub spout. Gently insert a plumbing snake down into the pipe, move it back and forth, and pull it out. Remove any hair, debris, and soap scum that comes out with it. Repeat the process until the snake comes out clean, and then reinstall the cap on your overflow valve.

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

To get rid of a sewer smell in your crawl space, you’ll have to find the source of the problem. If it has to do with your sewer lines, then repairing the line will help. You may need to make other repairs, like fixing your sump pump or encapsulating your crawl space to reduce moisture. After you make the repair, depending on the issue, you may still need to clean out your crawl space to get rid of the stink.
