"I recently hired David McCoy to do some patchwork on the drywall in my house, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. He displayed utmost professionalism, punctuality, and exceptional skills throughout the entire process. The patched areas are seamless—you’d never know there was any damage there to begin with. David paid close attention to detail and ensured everything was executed perfectly. Moreover, he maintained cleanliness in the workspace and was very respectful of my home environment. I highly recommend David McCoy for any drywall work. His excellent craftsmanship and outstanding service make him a top choice for anyone in need of drywall repair. You won't be disappointed!"

"Lance was awesome! He painted my master bedroom and patched a couple holes we had in the drywall. One from my dog, and it turned out great, better than expected. The dog sure did a number but now you would never know my dog ate the wall. The paint job was done nice and neat and come out very well! We are so pleased with his work. Lance was professional and on time to do the job. Very easy to schedule with. I already have more jobs I’d like him to do!"

"We are extremely happy with Edson, Johana, and the work done by ENJ Luminous LLC! From our first call to the completion of the project only took about 10 days. Esmond came the same day to give us an estimate for removing the popcorn ceiling, fixing cracks and old water damage, and repainting the ceilings in our rental home. We found the estimate to be very fair and asked Esmond to get started. He and his team breathed new life into our 26-year-old home. It looks brand new! We are so glad we went ahead with the project and are thrilled with the results. The work was completed quickly and beautifully, and Esmond kept us updated throughout the entire process with messages and photos. We highly recommend Esmond and his team and will definitely contact him again when we’re ready to fix the settling ceiling cracks in our main home."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You may need to replace drywall because of smoke damage. If the drywall is covered in soot, you may be able to clean it, but it will require a lot of time and effort. You could spend hours cleaning the drywall only to find there is more damage and it needs to be replaced anyway. It’s usually easier and safer to remove the smoke-damaged drywall and replace it.

While every home has its own unique needs, ceiling drywall installation typically follows a staggered or stepped pattern to enhance structural integrity and reduce the visibility of seams. Starting from one corner, sheets are placed perpendicular to the ceiling joists, with the ends of adjacent sheets meeting along the center of the joist. The next row begins with a half sheet, ensuring joints don't align vertically. This alternating pattern, combined with proper taping and mudding, creates a seamless appearance and strengthens the ceiling structure, minimizing the risk of cracks over time.

Regularly in areas prone to moisture or high traffic to catch issues early.

You should wait at least 24 hours for drywall mud to dry before sanding or applying another coat. However, the exact drying time depends on several factors, including the thickness of the application, room temperature, humidity, and the type of compound used. Thicker layers, or projects in high humidity, may require 48 hours or more. Lightweight compounds tend to dry faster than heavier, all-purpose ones. You'll know the mud is ready when it feels completely dry and firm to the touch and has changed to a consistent light color. Sanding too early can cause smudging or gouges, so patience is essential for a smooth finish.

Wall anchors are suitable for drywall and plaster walls, which are common in most homes. However, different wall materials may require specialized anchors. For concrete or masonry walls, you'd typically use concrete anchors. When dealing with other wall types, such as brick or tile, specific anchors designed for those materials may be necessary. Always consult with a hardware specialist or check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the appropriate anchors for your specific wall type.
