"We are over the moon with the service we received from Designer lifestyles. When using a company, Jon was by far the most communicative and professional person to come in and give us an estimate. They were polite, professional, competent and efficient. They kept the area clean and were in constant communication with me during this project. As with any project there were a couple of unforeseeable hiccups, but nothing that wasn’t easily and quickly remedied. The final cost was only about $500 more than the estimate we received prior to beginning the service. We feel that they earned every penny. We dreamed up our install in our head and they brought it to life. We will definitely use their service again for a future needs in our home, and do recommend their service to friends and family. They removed a wall, repaired the floor under that removed wall, repaired and painted the drywall, closed in two enclaves, installed upper and lower cabinetry with an area for wine, installed a wine glass rack, under cabinet lighting, quartz countertop beautiful backsplash, soft close drawers and doors, put in hardy board and new beautiful tile floor to ceiling around our fireplace. Final cost was about $11,000. The entire job was completed in about three weeks from start date."

"I wanted to hire them to fix my home bi had already been ripped off by another co. But this company would not take my money because the house should have been deemed a total loss. I so respected his honesty!"

"Joe Miller got my mother's home back into tip-top condition. He fixed everything extremely well, and the house looks great. He was punctual, professional and pleasant. He's a good communicator, his prices were reasonable, and he did excellent work. It's a blessing to know that we can call on Joe in the future as needs arise. His wide variety of handyman skills is impressive."

"I wish he could come back but unfortunately I was unable to reach him last time. I think he probably just had so many projects. I would expect the price to be the cost he had projected. He did a good job and communicated well. His attention to detail making sure to take the time to make sure the job was done right stands out to me. Double checking with me and reassuring that me as the client was happy with the progress and how things were going."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Ensures adherence to local building codes and customized designs to fit personal needs.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.
