"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"Over all the project went well. There was some frustration on our end trying to get the job started, however, there were over 100,000 roof claims in Jacksonville after Hurricane Matthew and only 3000 roofers in the general area. I vented often to them and they were responsive and helped patch issues while waiting to get our job started. When the job got started, they moved it along quickly and did an excellent job from start to finish. This was a roof replacement based on insurance adjusters assessment from the hurricane damage. Roberts Handled all the processing of the paperwork with the insurance company and we just paid them the deductible. Total cost of the job was $26000. The job also included some internal Drywall water damage repair. The subcontractor they used for the work also did an excellent job. Hurricane deductible was $8000."

"

We contacted British Masonry after we started refinishing our fireplace and quickly realized it was definitely a job for professionals. Donnie and Brian came out on a Sunday and spent 9 hours finishing the job. They are extremely talented, diligent and professional. Their work was meticulous especially considering that every stone had to be individually cut. We would definitely recommend them to anyone needing masonry work and we will definitely be using them again for future projects.

"The crew arrived on time, made the repairs I had contracted for, explained what they were doing along the way, and left the job neat and clean. Of 4 chimney contractors I had bid on this repair job, L D Phillips was the only one who could do the complete work needed. Very satisfied."

"Good as old? You cannot tell that we had the wall replaced - it blends perfectly with the original brick work. While he was there, we also contracted with James to do a brick cove cover on our fireplace chimney - it looks amazing and he restored some of the damaged brick/mortar around the top of the chimney"

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

You should contact a local range hood installation professional to install your range hood and do the ductwork. Prices range from $50 to $100 per hour, with the total number of hours required varying based on the project complexity. Simple installations might take an hour or two, while more complicated ones can take four hours or more.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.

Yes, they can assess the size, kitchen layout, and ventilation requirements to make recommendations.

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.
