"Morne and his team were incredible to work with. He transformed the curb appeal of our 1980’s ranch. We have enjoyed his landscape installations at other homes in our neighborhood and we’re excited to have him design and install new landscaping and sod on the front of our home. We would recommend NCG to our neighbors, family, and friends."

After agreeing to the design they were thorough and efficient in completing the work. They are the best landscapers we have ever worked with."

"Father & Son came in and did a fabulous job removing the old pavers and correcting the disastrous job my last contractor did. They did so at a fair price. I wished I’d found them first. Their quality of work is great. My reason for not giving 5 stars is in that process of demoing my patio they caused damage to my sliding glass door trim on both sides. It’s not something I can correct an make perfect. I can repair it but I shouldn’t have too. The other reason is one of the workers dumped leftover concrete onto my lawn. I noticed this and brought it to the supervisor of the team on site. I did see him direct a member of his team to clean it up. However, I never followed up. So now I have a thin layer of concrete on my lawn. I’ll have to break up the concrete and replace the sod. My grass was thin in this area to begin with, but workers shouldn’t be dumping a concrete mixture on my property. Even with the these sight mistakes I’d recommend this company too anyone. They answer their phones and are polite. They show up on time!!! They finished the job in one day which took the last contractor a week."

"They did a terrific job laying sod and landscaping the front of my house. Great staff! Stayed in touch during the entire project. Even took me to the nursery to pick out the plants that I liked. Excellent job."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

The best landscaping for a septic drain field is shallow-rooted grass or native vegetation that helps prevent soil erosion while allowing water to evaporate efficiently. Avoid planting trees, shrubs, or deep-rooted plants near the drain field because the roots can infiltrate pipes and cause blockages. Using mulch or gravel sparingly can also help retain moisture and protect the system without restricting airflow.

The best time to plant is between spring and autumn. Springtime weather is typically mild and is when nurseries start to bloom. When the summer weather arrives and it’s hot out, it’s best to avoid planting bare-root plants, but you can still plant many in-container varieties. The first sign of fall is another great opportunity to plant biennials if you live in southern states, or a lovely vegetable garden up north.

By definition, gardeners are experts at designing and maintaining outdoor gardens. Their job duties extend far beyond choosing the right plants for the area, which in itself is a job—they also help maintain the health and well-being of the plants. Gardeners work independently or for landscapers, nurseries, or horticulture design companies.

Yes, you can absolutely transplant bushes instead of removing them completely. The success depends on the size of the bushes, their age, and the transplanting season. Ideally, transplant during the dormant season (late fall or winter). Dig out the entire root system in one piece, fill the new hole with fresh soil and mulch, and water thoroughly after planting.
