"Morne was a pleasure to work with. He is very knowledgeable and the pricing for services was extremely fair. Work was completed as stated and quite quickly. He kept me informed with updates throughout the project and was great at communication as well. I plan on hiring him for a future project later this year. Sadly, our house is outside of his area for lawn maintenance or I would have hired him for that as well."

"Outdoor Brothers cleared our very overgrown property of vines, weeds and tree debris. Jacob is true to his word with his estimate and is very reasonable. The amount of debris and trees removed was astounding. Jacob also repaired our sprinkler system. They work very well as a team. We highly recommend Outdoor Brothers."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Yes, especially for properties focusing on curb appeal. A well-maintained landscape supports visual and environmental attractiveness, potentially increasing desirability.

This depends on the type of grass seed, as some types do better in different environmental conditions. Cool-season grasses go dormant during the summer months when the soil temperature exceeds 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Once exposed to regular doses of heat, the germination rates decline, with seedling death not far behind.

As for warm-season seeds, they come from tropical parts of the world and thrive in heat. They actively grow in warm air temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and they prefer soil temperatures between 65 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Once temperatures dip and frost rolls in, if you don’t store them properly, warm-season grass seeds will die quickly.

One of the most effective ways to improve lawn absorption is to learn how to aerate your lawn. This is a process where you poke tiny holes all throughout it to break up tough soil and sediment, creating pathways for sunlight, water, air, and nutrients to seep into the plant’s roots. In turn, it promotes stronger root systems, making your lawn or plants less susceptible to pests and disease. Ideally, you’ll want to aerate your lawn at least once per year during the growing season—think late summer to early fall.

Both zoysia grass and bermuda grass are somewhat similar to St. Augustine because they’re all warm-season grasses. Beyond that, most grass types have unique properties that set them apart. Zoysia grass costs twice the price of St. Augustine grass on average and it has thinner blades and a deeper green appearance. Bermuda grass, compared to St. Augustine, has much thinner blades, is softer to the touch, and has a higher tolerance for colder weather.

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.
