Small jobs welcome

"I visited 10-11 granite/stone companies in the industrial park of Naples. I felt the most comfortable with Jeff at Marble Granite Pro. He was personable, honest and extremely helpful. I chose a quartzite on his lot but I could have also chosen something from a granite supply warehouse, he could get it from them and install it. I feel we had our counters installed in record time. We weren't even expecting to get them done this trip. Like one of the other review, we replaced a granite 2 level counter with quartzite 1 level. The job came out beautiful. He was careful to match the grain in the seams. His guys were so neat and respectful. They laid paper down on my floors to protect them, vacuumed the dust as they worked and cleaned up nicely. It was a wonderful experience and my kitchen looks beautiful. I will definitely recommend you to any of my friends and neighbors. Thank you Jeff!"

"Job was to expand the cutout in my granite countertop for a larger stove. It was done efficiently, accurately, and with a minimum of mess from the granite dust. Dania was friendly, professional, and made some good suggestions regarding the job."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

In most cases, chipped or cracked granite can be salvaged, but it depends on the size and scope of the damage. For example, a pro can smooth out small chips on the edge with polish pads or an angle grinder, but a crack that runs through the stone's surface has little-to-no chance of being fixed easily.

If you're looking to break up a stone slab or some landscaping stone, the process is very similar to breaking up a boulder, and may in fact be easier because it is easier to access and not as deeply buried into the ground.

You can cut countertops without chipping by using your saw correctly and having a new fine-toothed blade. You can also put masking tape on the front of the countertop material across the cut line and cut from front to back. However, it is very hard to cut countertops without chipping them, especially if they are made of stone or more fragile materials like laminate. The best advice is to know how to use the equipment, use the correct cutting method for the material, cut from back to front, move slowly, and practice on scrap material first.

Yes, you can remove an undermount sink from granite countertops. However, it’s safest to hire a granite pro to take on this job. Your pro might have to make cuts and grind the granite to remove the sink. Plus, if you’re replacing your sink with a larger one, you’ll need your pro to enlarge the existing sink cutout in your granite.

The cost to repair a stone countertop typically ranges from $200 to $800. The final price depends on several factors, including the type and severity of the damage, the type of stone, and labor costs. Minor issues like small cracks, chips, or scratches are on the lower end of the cost spectrum, while more significant damage that requires resurfacing, refinishing, resealing, or custom color matching will be more expensive.
