"It was very hard to find wallpaper installers in the Volusia county area - and the few who we did find, would not follow through with communication and/or appointments. I am so glad we found Lucas and his father of Kairos Wallpaper. Lucas maintained consistent communication and best of all, did excellent work in our home. They were also extremely polite and respectful and we greatly appreciate them taking the time to come all the way from Winter Garden to do our install! Iâ d absolutely recommend them."

"Brian is literally the BEST IN THE BUSINESS!! He provides prompt responses right from the initial reach out throughout the entire project. We renovated a townhouse we bought from top to bottom and Brian and his team worked tirelessly for 3 weeks to completely paint all interior walls, all woodwork, ceilings, etc. He painted 3 bathroom cabinets, painted all of our kitchen cabinets (even adding a crown molding to the top of the cabinets to give them a finished look), and adding hardware to all cabinets. He installed light fixtures in every bathroom, our kitchen and over the dining table. He is a pleasure to work with, a genuine, hardworking person, and a very thoughtful individual. I have recommended him within our HOA many, many times. I highly recommend Brian and Air Hand Services!"

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

The average cost to remove wood paneling is $2,800, but total costs may be higher or lower depending on the size of the room, your location, and the amount of prep work required. Once the paneling is gone, you may have additional costs depending on the condition of the wall beneath.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

The average cost to remove wallpaper is $790. The final price tag depends on the size of the room and the complexity of the project, and can range from $200 to $2,000. Usually, removing peel-and-stick wallpaper is on the lower end of the cost scale, as it doesn't require special tools to remove.

Costs depend on wallpaper type, wall condition, labor, and necessary repairs.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it is generally better to remove it first to guarantee a smooth, professional finish. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it may lead to issues if not done correctly.

You can paint over existing wallpaper if it is in excellent condition: smooth, non-textured, clean, and firmly adhered to the wall. Ensure there are no bumps, tears, or peeling areas, and that all corners and seams are securely glued down. You might also consider painting over wallpaper if removing it would damage the underlying wall. Additionally, some wallpapers are specifically designed to be paintable, which can add texture to a room.

However, there are risks. If the wallpaper is textured, damaged, or peeling, these imperfections will show through the new paint. The moisture from the paint can also loosen the wallpaper's adhesive, causing it to bubble and potentially damage the wall. To mitigate these issues, clean the surface thoroughly and use an oil-based primer to help the paint adhere and prevent the old adhesive from bleeding through.
