"Abe Raksin, the owner, is wonderful. His wife Raquell originally answered and was just lovely. Abe came with an assistant Donny. I want to thank Angie's List for the first company you emailed to me for excellent service removing many items from my house to be disposed of on 5/31 by Abe. Raquell answered right away at SF local moving. From the first word she spoke, i just knew i was in good hands, which never wavered. The other companies given would not even give me a moment of their time, Abe, Raquell, and Donny worked very well together courteous, helpful beyond words. They remained polite, thoughtful, and careful with all of my items. They worked very hard with some very heavy items. I wanted to give them more than a 15% tip even before the came because they handled everything from the first word to the last with such kindness and professionalism. If they would have me again, I would use them in a heartbeat and would not hesitate to give them top recognition that is well deserved. They were right on time and courteous all the way through."

Customers say: True professional

"My moving experience with B & M Moving was exceptional! They were on time, courteous, caring, accommodating and very positive. The 4 gentlemen that assisted with my residential move took their time to make certain that everything was wrapped properly and packed professionally on the truck to ensure no damage would occur. They treated my items as though they were their own and remained happy, helpful and stress-free throughout the entire move. I have moved many times and have never been happier from start to finish. I would highly recommend B & M Moving for any moving needs both small or large and in town or long distance. Many thanks to B & M Moving and all of the gentlemen involved with my move!"

"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"We had to move our household to two different destinations after the house was sold. Mom moved across town and we had our new home. We contracted both moves with Direct Relocation Services at a very competitive price."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Renting a moving truck or using a shipping container (or moving pod) are typically the cheapest ways to move long-distance. For moving a few items, a container can cost as little as $700. Renting a standard-sized moving truck averages between $1,200 and $2,100. For longer distances, moving pods can become more cost-effective, as you can ship the pod to your destination and avoid transportation costs like gas, mileage, and lodging.

It’s best to pack things that are in storage and non-essential items first. Start by packing up items you are taking from your storage unit, garage or shed, basement, and attic. You should wait to pack essential items such as toiletries and medications last.

To prepare furniture for moving, detach furniture legs if possible. If the legs must stay on, wrap them with foam wrap or taped blankets to help prevent damage. You can also buy dedicated moving “socks” for furniture legs.

Yes, you can move a tiny house on skids, although it will be costly to do so frequently. Skids are essentially hefty timbers you can attach a chain to to move the entire structure. People often build their tiny homes on top of the skids, allowing them to be more portable. However, it’s not as simple of a move as a house on wheels, so it’s a more complicated move.

Depending on distance and individual scheduling needs, from a few days to a week.
