"Very professional and knowledgeable.  All services were completed as promised in a timely manner - complete job start to finish was 4 days.  Provided free estimate of work as well as a written contract detailing all services to be provided and materials to be used.  Always very courteous - willing to work around my work schedule to get the front door painted. Completely cleaned up each day - could not even tell that someone had been here by the end of the job except that my house looks brand new.  Very satisfied with all that was done.

"He showed up when he said he would and used only his own employees. He did not sub anything out. He put in a full day's work and everyone was friendly. It was obvious they took pride in their work by the quality of the painting. He told me it would only take 4 days to complete but finished in 3. He would suggest changes that he felt would make the house look better. I agreed with his suggestions and it turned out better than what it would have. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone."

"First time hiring someone to Paint, was told by friend to call Mr. Krebs & he is the guy for the job! Gave him a call, he picked up first call! Had a great conversation & sure enough he arrived on time. Also add was on a day & time that worked best around my schedule! Very Professional! Everything was completed to perfection. Even offered ideas to make things look better, & I don't regret taking the advice. Im making sure to get him more business! He's already lined up my parents house, & my brothers bisness office! Overall A+!"

"I had taken down everything to the studs, removed old screws, removed and taped electrical outlet/switches, and had everything ready to go. Provider was late showing up for pre-inspection of the job (twice) and even on the day of the job. The provider compensated me for these no-shows by having me pay only for the labor on the additional work that was required. He seemed to genuinely care as to whether or not I was satisfied with the job. If you have no experience with drywall, you should understand that four hours ($99 deal on Angie's List) is not a lot of time if you are looking for a finished job given the inherent drying times for the mud and joint compound. This provider was flexible and went away to work on another job while the coating dried and then came back. Quality was good, certainly better than I could do but not the best I have seen. Bottom line: Drywall work is time consuming and just about an artform. Not sure if I would use them again...really depends on the work I would need done."

"We hired CMR Painting for a whole-house interior painting project. Chris and the CMR team did an amazing job! It is an old family home that had not been painted in quite awhile, and Chris was able to completely bring it back to life. Patching where necessary, removing old wallpaper, and painting it all to our specs without leaving a trace behind him. Chris was very professional and honest to work with, from the estimate to the completion of the job. Would absolutely hire him again!"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

It is less costly to paint than wallpaper when you only consider the upfront cost. Wallpaper costs $320 to $820 when applied by a pro, while paint only costs $200 to $700 per room. However, when comparing wallpaper versus paint, consider the long-term as well. Wallpaper can save you money over time since it has a much longer life span than paint.

Wallpaper lasts an average of around 15 years, but there is some variance. The type of wallpaper matters, as vinyl wallpaper tends to last the longest—sometimes 20 years or more—while a peel-and-stick wallpaper, which is the easiest to install for DIYers, will usually only last for around five years. Exposure to high humidity, smoke, and UV rays from sunlight can also limit the lifespan of your wallpaper, as can heavy traffic in the installation area.

Both paint and wallpaper can work in a bathroom, provided you choose high-quality products in either category. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.

If you need a stronger magnetic surface, or you need to use a different type of paint in the room (like waterproof paint in a damp basement), there are other accessible options. You could fit a steel panel over the wall, try magnetic wallpaper, or apply chalk paint instead.

If you want an inexpensive shortcut, hang a pinboard or chalkboard on your wall. These removable options are ideal if you’re a renter who can’t repaint or plan to move in the near future.

Accent walls can feel out of place or distracting if not well designed. Accent walls that don’t fit in with a room’s style can feel jarring or overpowering. Some accent wall styles can also feel dated, but fortunately, it’s easier to update a single wall than an entire room.
