"Very professional and knowledgeable.  All services were completed as promised in a timely manner - complete job start to finish was 4 days.  Provided free estimate of work as well as a written contract detailing all services to be provided and materials to be used.  Always very courteous - willing to work around my work schedule to get the front door painted. Completely cleaned up each day - could not even tell that someone had been here by the end of the job except that my house looks brand new.  Very satisfied with all that was done.

"He showed up when he said he would and used only his own employees. He did not sub anything out. He put in a full day's work and everyone was friendly. It was obvious they took pride in their work by the quality of the painting. He told me it would only take 4 days to complete but finished in 3. He would suggest changes that he felt would make the house look better. I agreed with his suggestions and it turned out better than what it would have. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone."

"First time hiring someone to Paint, was told by friend to call Mr. Krebs & he is the guy for the job! Gave him a call, he picked up first call! Had a great conversation & sure enough he arrived on time. Also add was on a day & time that worked best around my schedule! Very Professional! Everything was completed to perfection. Even offered ideas to make things look better, & I don't regret taking the advice. Im making sure to get him more business! He's already lined up my parents house, & my brothers bisness office! "I had taken down everything to the studs, removed old screws, removed and taped electrical outlet/switches, and had everything ready to go. Provider was late showing up for pre-inspection of the job (twice) and even on the day of the job. The provider compensated me for these no-shows by having me pay only for the labor on the additional work that was required. He seemed to genuinely care as to whether or not I was satisfied with the job. If you have no experience with drywall, you should understand that four hours ($99 deal on Angie's List) is not a lot of time if you are looking for a finished job given the inherent drying times for the mud and joint compound. This provider was flexible and went away to work on another job while the coating dried and then came back. Quality was good, certainly better than I could do but not the best I have seen. Bottom line: Drywall work is time consuming and just about an artform. Not sure if I would use them again...really depends on the work I would need done."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install or hang wallpaper is around $575 per room or project, with typical prices ranging from $200 to $1,500. Costs can be higher for custom or luxury products. Since project size varies, it's often helpful to estimate labor costs per square foot, which generally fall between $1 and $7, with an average of $4 per square foot. The total cost depends on several factors, including the quality and type of wallpaper, the size and type of the room, and whether old wallpaper must be removed first. Opting for less expensive materials like peel-and-stick wallpaper or choosing to do the installation yourself can lower the overall cost. For the most accurate estimate, it is best to have a professional inspect the space and provide a quote.

If you prefer peel-and-stick to traditional wallpaper, you can skip the priming process. Many manufacturers don't require an additional primer if you’re installing peel-and-stick wallpaper to painted walls. However, if you’re applying peel-and-stick wallpaper to unfinished drywall, you’ll need to apply a primer first.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

It’s possible to hang your own wallpaper, but the process is tedious and potentially frustrating, and it can be challenging to get seams to line up and look clean and professional. Plus, depending on the type of wallpaper you’re installing, using too much or too little adhesive could cause damage to your drywall or plaster, peeling, and bubbling in the final product. It’s usually a better idea to hire a professional wallpaper installer to do the work for you, as the relatively low cost is justifiable, if only to avoid damage to your walls.

While many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, they may not adhere as well in humid environments as traditional wallpaper. For best results, choose a vinyl or polyester-based wallpaper, as these materials are more durable and water-resistant. Good ventilation is also crucial to reduce humidity from steamy showers. In bathrooms with high moisture and inadequate ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.
