"I could not ask for a more beautiful job. I had just short of two rolls of wallpaper and that's all the store had as it was on clearance. This made a very expensive paper affordable but it meant that in order to do the job there could be almost no waste. My intention was to have the lower half of the foyer wainscotted but my contractor jumped ship so Ron Couch jumped in and was able to make the wallpaper stretch. The pattern is expertly matched and it looks like a million bucks. Terrific job!"

"He showed up when he said he would and used only his own employees. He did not sub anything out. He put in a full day's work and everyone was friendly. It was obvious they took pride in their work by the quality of the painting. He told me it would only take 4 days to complete but finished in 3. He would suggest changes that he felt would make the house look better. I agreed with his suggestions and it turned out better than what it would have. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone."

"I had taken down everything to the studs, removed old screws, removed and taped electrical outlet/switches, and had everything ready to go. Provider was late showing up for pre-inspection of the job (twice) and even on the day of the job. The provider compensated me for these no-shows by having me pay only for the labor on the additional work that was required. He seemed to genuinely care as to whether or not I was satisfied with the job. If you have no experience with drywall, you should understand that four hours ($99 deal on Angie's List) is not a lot of time if you are looking for a finished job given the inherent drying times for the mud and joint compound. This provider was flexible and went away to work on another job while the coating dried and then came back. Quality was good, certainly better than I could do but not the best I have seen. Bottom line: Drywall work is time consuming and just about an artform. Not sure if I would use them again...really depends on the work I would need done."

"We hired CMR Painting for a whole-house interior painting project. Chris and the CMR team did an amazing job! It is an old family home that had not been painted in quite awhile, and Chris was able to completely bring it back to life. Patching where necessary, removing old wallpaper, and painting it all to our specs without leaving a trace behind him. Chris was very professional and honest to work with, from the estimate to the completion of the job. Would absolutely hire him again!"

E&T Handyman services

Ed and partner were in January to do repairs and paint the interior of a home I had renters in for 5 years.  I plan to sell the house and so a professional job was expected.

Ed quoted $1 per square foot of walls.  We did negotiate a reduction, however, I was unable to afford to get the trim, closets and doors painted.  I removed all outlet plates, shelving and other obstacles. I forgot to remove the bathroom wall fixtures and they painted around them leaving the old color around the edges. Some wall areas did not get full paint coverage. Their painting work would be ok if I were just going to rent it again but not for selling.

I had a long list of things to do. Ed and partner hung 3 ceiling fans, installed a washer, dryer, dishwasher, a patio sliding door and a few other repairs.  Ed developed an eye problem. He did not follow up to do the rest of my list of things to do. Ed is very pleasant and congenial. My opinion is he is not as experienced a handyman as I needed. Paid: $2,975 for labor.

I completed all my work with Rick Boyd. He is the best of the best. See that review

Wallpaper Removal FAQs, answered by experts

Once again, contact with moisture is the culprit here, though water-resistant varieties of wallpaper are less likely to become wet and develop mold. Using a high-quality exhaust fan or dehumidifier and leaving the doors or windows cracked after bathing will keep this issue at bay.

Stubborn adhesives, multiple layers, and drywall damage can complicate removal.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. In addition, if you try to hang new wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper, the adhesive might not stick properly.

When comparing peel-and-stick and traditional wallpaper, the better choice depends on your specific needs and space. Peel-and-stick wallpaper is more budget-friendly and easier to DIY install. On the other hand, traditional wallpaper lasts much longer and holds up better in a wider variety of spaces, including areas with moisture like kitchens and bathrooms.

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.
