"Drew’s Masonry did an excellent job. We needed the stucco repaired before painting our home. Our stucco was in bad shape around the bottom of my window frames. The crew did an excellent job fixing that and doing a small round edge so water can flow better away front the window. They also fixed stucco cracks all around the outside walls. Now we are ready to paint. The crew was fast, courteous, and professional. Job well done. Thanks you."

"Awesome. I am very picky about who I let work at my home. Tommy and his crew are top notch painters. Took care of all my issues and communicated quickly. No question too small. Used Bruna and her girls for house cleaning. Wow. Now that’s a clean house. Punctual, friendly, experienced. They don’t waste time. Just get to work. Would highly recommend Entire Home Services."

"Great work. They fixed some cracks in the tile and sealed some leaking joints and provided a full explanation and took extensive photos of their work and a detailed final report was sent to me. Real good people to work with. I recommend them highly."

"We were pleased with Royal Painting LLC. Mike Cummings is personable, attentive and eager to please his customers. He was very responsive in contacting us and easy to work with.  His carpenter and painters did an excellent job. Greg, the primary painter, was extremely conscientious and accommodating. Royal Painting?s prices were reasonable and comparable to other companies. After the job was complete, Mike has offered to revisit and paint some additional door frames as a thank you for our business.

From start to finish, the job went excellent in all areas and met all of our expectations.  The work actually commenced prior to the planned start date and was completed on the date promised.  No corners were cut in meeting the completion date. David Cadwallader of British Masonry and his 3 employees performed all work in an expert and professional manner.  Their cleanup after completion was very thorough, with all construction debris being properly removed and all furniture and potted plants being returned to their place on the terrace .  I had purchased mulch to place in the flower beds in front of the terrace when the work was completed.  However, upon completion one of David's employees retrieved the twelve bags of mulch from our garage and spread them in the beds without us requesting or even mentioning it to the worker.   It is with pleasure that I recommend British Masonry to anyone needing brick work and we will certainly use British Masonry for any future masonry work at our home.

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Quikrete will set without mixing. The process of pouring dry concrete into your concrete form and then adding water is called dry pouring. While this method makes pouring concrete simpler and easier, it reduces its strength and durability. It can be a viable option for small, decorative concrete pavers for walkways or for setting fence posts, but it’s not ideal for pouring slabs that will bear any significant amount of weight.

You can use small bits that are up to 3/8 inch in diameter, or larger bits that are 1/2 inch or more in diameter. Make sure the bits you use are coated with carbide or diamond; this information is usually visible on the package. You can also use hole saw bits to drill into stucco.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.

Failing to repair damaged stucco can lead to significant problems. Cracks can grow and deepen, allowing water and moisture to get behind the stucco. This moisture intrusion can cause water damage, structural issues, and mold or mildew growth. Delaying repairs will likely cost more in the long run as the damage worsens, so it's best to repair your stucco as soon as you notice any signs of damage, such as cracks, holes, or discoloration.

The average cost to repair stucco is about $1,600, with projects ranging from $250 for minor fixes to $6,700 for extensive work. The price is often calculated per square foot, typically costing between $60 and $120. Some professionals may charge an hourly rate of $40 to $50. The final cost depends on the extent of the damage, the type of stucco, your home's location, and whether there is underlying damage that also needs to be addressed.

Costs for specific repairs vary:

  • Cracks: $8–$20 per square foot

  • Holes: $250–$450 per hole

  • Water damage: $30–$50 per square foot

  • Chimney repair: $60–$120 per square foot

  • Recoating: $4–$5 per square foot

While you may be able to patch small cracks yourself, it is recommended to call a professional for major repairs to ensure the job is done correctly.
