"I worked with Mike and had a soft wash done on my streaky and dirty looking roof. It looked like it needed replacing after just 8 years. Mike was great to work with! He responded quickly, was a good communicator, and was a very nice person to deal with. The crew did a great job, were fast and efficient, and clean up was perfect. I was not home but my neighbor had his done at the same time and he was really pleased with the work team. All I know is I came home to a what looked like a new roof! Wish I had taken before and after pictures. I priced several companies and spoke to each about their process and liked both AJM’s price and the patient answers to my questions. I would definitely highly recommend them!"

"Very positive experience from the first contact with Rob to the final walk-through at completion. Rob and Michael arrived on schedule, explained all steps in the process for our house wash, patio, pool deck and driveway pressure wash. The fair pricing, preparation and care of our property and final results exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be using him again in the future!"

Pressure Washing FAQs, answered by experts

While a pressure washer is certainly powerful enough to remove old and peeling paint, this is not a great idea to do yourself. The pressure washer is so powerful that you could actually damage the walls as you strip away the paint. It’s best to leave paint stripping to the pros.

Yes, you must thoroughly clean your deck before staining. If you don't, dirt, debris, grease, and mildew can get trapped between the wood and the new stain. This not only looks unsightly but also prevents the stain from penetrating the wood properly, reducing its ability to protect the deck from weather and UV rays. As a result, the stain won't last as long or look as good. Any existing mold or mildew left untreated can continue to grow beneath the new stain, potentially leading to wood rot and structural damage. Always wait at least 48 hours after cleaning for the wood to dry completely before applying stain.

Always begin by removing large debris, leaves, and branches from your lawn to make room for the rest of your lawn maintenance checklist. Move on to mowing, weeding, and edging in the spaces between your lawn and garden. Lastly, clean off all hardscapes, porches, and patios for a fresh and tidy appearance.

It is possible to pressure wash your deck, but it’s usually best to leave the work to a professional for two main reasons. First, power washers are expensive, and you can avoid high upfront costs by hiring a deck washing pro instead. Second, you must be careful to use the correct setting to avoid damaging your deck material. You can only clean soft woods like pine with a wide spray and a low pressure; otherwise, the water will leave unpleasant marks on your deck. Hard woods, composite material, and metal can stand up to increasingly higher water pressures.

Yes, a pressure washer uses less water than a garden hose. There are many ways to use a pressure washer, and it can be an eco-friendly hose substitute. While a pressure washer expels water with greater force, it uses 50% to 70% less water than a garden hose. Specifically, hoses put out six to 10 gallons per minute (GPM), while pressure washers only use two to five GPM.
