"The panel turned out great. They worked effortlessly to ensure that everything was done correct. My old panel was labeled wrong, so they were able to fix the labels so that I now have correct names for each breaker. He went around and reworked my outlets that were wired in correctly and even helped me program a universal remote to my fan. He was also able to help me replace my bathroom fan, all in one day. So yes, I would reconsider them and I hope you have as great as an experience as I did! Thank you!"

"After the disaster of trying a competitor, I re-submitted my work request to HomeAdvisor hoping to find another electrician for two simple projects - install a new light fixture, and remove a light and replace with a ceiling fan. Within 15 minutes of submitting my request, All American Electrical contacted me and asked for some details, advised they could do it as soon as Monday morning (I requested on Friday), and even gave me an estimate on how much it would cost. The other contractor I had tried to get an idea of cost from beat around the bush and said "Well, every project is different, we have to see what we're dealing with - yadda yadda" but All American gave me a very accurate estimate. Monday morning rolls around they arrive right on time. They get to work quickly and are extremely polite. For this project they charged hourly, and I was expecting two hours of work, but they completed both projects in an hour. They didn't drag their feet to bill for additional time and cleaned up afterwards. If I have any future projects - I will DEFINITELY contact these guys. They were fantastic to deal with an extremely competitive with their pricing."

"They were very good at installing the GFCI plugs though one is not working in the kitchen. But Ken Howard was very vague about why the AC was not working. He did state in an email before he arrived that the AC company put the wrong motor in and put a single speed motor in the air handler vs a variable speed motor and the single speed motor requires more power which is why the breakers were tripping. And conclusively the single speed motor also tripped the breakers many times and finally tripped the breaker for the heat pump outside the other component of the AC system and shorted it out.. So basically the wrong motor shorted out my whole system which Ken Howard explained in choppy language, more like shop talk between electricians and not in layman's language which the average person could understand, which I thought was unprofessional."

"I liked that you always got someone on the phone when you called and they stuck to their word. They came when they said they would. We thought we would have a problem when one of the workers made a hole in our ceiling, but they came back to fix it when they said they would be coming and you can’t even tell the difference. Quality workmanship! I would definitely re-hire if I needed to."

"Very well. We had a number of projects that we needed done, both interior and exterior. Joe arrived on time on the day we scheduled to go over what was needed and on the days he was working at our home. He did repairs on fences including painting, replaced a deadbolt lock, did interior and exterior painting and some repair work on ceilings including repainting. He also installed exterior floodlights on existing electrical boxes, rebuilt and reinstalled a storm-damaged wood shutter and worked on several interior doors that were not working satisfactorily. Joe works steadily and efficiently getting more done each day than I would have ever thought possible. He cleaned up all areas that he worked in and removed all debris from the premises. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Joe for “handyman” jobs. He seems willing to tackle most anything but told me up front that he doesn’t do plumbing."

"Surge protector was installed. $198 was charged for a $30, 2 foot LED fluorescent light (purchased at Home Depot) which replaced the fixture on the ceiling that quit working (fixture was already wired in the ceiling). Large holes were left in the ceiling after installation."

"The project went wonderfully. The prep work they did to protect every horizontal surface, every little ledge and trim piece before they scraped the popcorn off the ceilings was so meticulous my interior designer is going to recommend them to her other clients. They were flexible and communicated very well, even sent pictures of a vibrant blue we picked on the wall to make sure we were sure we really wanted it (we did, or our teenager does). Very happy with the work and with the company. Highly recommend!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

A typical fan installation takes between two and six hours. The exact timeframe can be influenced by factors such as the home's structure, existing electrical characteristics, ease of attic access, and whether complex wiring or additional attic ventilation work is required.

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.
