For over 50 years, Fenwick Home Services has been the trusted choice for plumbing services in Jacksonville. As a state-certified business, we bring expertise and reliability to every project. Our family-owned company is committed to providing exceptional service, and we offer financing options to make your home projects more affordable. Contact us today for all your plumbing needs.

"We were taken advantage of from a Jacksonville company when we needed help. DO NOT use this company for any plumbing, cooling or heating needs even if it’s an emergency. Please read the following: We called FENWICK for assistance with our HVAC. During a recent cold snap our HVAC system froze and required immediate attention. A technician arrived and said he couldn’t work on the system until it was defrosted. If it wasn’t frosted that night, he wasn’t sure when he or any other associate could return. He said it would cost $188.00 to defrost the system. For over an hour the associate and I, in freezing temperatures, late in the evening, using hot water from our bathroom tub and our buckets, defrosted the unit. He diagnosed the problem and said we needed a Heat Pump Defroster Sensor. (part number: HH18HA279). The part had to be ordered and would take 5 to 7 days and the part would cost $441.00. Installation could take another 5 to 7 days. FENWICK charged us $89.00 for the service visit and $188.00 to defrost the unit. The part was installed about a week later. While waiting for the part I went to their web site and found that 3 coupons were available but were not offered. We asked the technician why he didn’t offer the coupons to which he replied “that’s up to you”. I took a photo of the part number and found that the part was sold by FACTORY AUTHORIZED PARTS. I found the part on-line for $31.00 and that it was available from Amazon and could be delivered free the next day. The final cost was $490.00 for the installation of a $31.00 part. After questioning the cost, FENWICK offered to waive the $89.00 service fee and offered to honor the coupons we found on-line from their web site. Our final cost was $530.00 ($342.00 plus $188.00) for the service call. Caveat Emptor!"

Local business operating out of St Johns county. We are 4th generation electricians. We are proud of the work we do and hope to be your go to electrician for all Your residential, commercial, and docks or marine needs.

"Had Austin Electric come out twice - once to swap out a couple ceiling fans and to move on office light fixture into the kitchen. Second visit was to add two outlets in the garage and one on the porch and to check polarity on a couple of wall switches. All services were done in a professional and efficient manner. I highly recommend Austin and his crew - they showed up on time and made sure I was happy with the placements and working of the installs."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.

If the fan doesn’t have a switch, connect the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan; connect the green wire to the ground wire; connect both black wires; and connect both blue wires. If yours has a switch, the white and green wires are connected the same way. However, connect the ceiling’s red wire to the light’s black wire and the ceiling’s black wire to the fan’s black wire.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

Ceiling fans provide a number of advantages for your home. They help circulate air throughout your home to avoid stagnant environments, and they can help lower utility bills if they keep you from switching on your air conditioning. Between built-in lighting and modern styling, ceiling fans can also add aesthetic appeal to your space.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.
