"Bright Electrical Solutions did a great job. Replacing ceiling fans and adding a new light fixture to a dark bathroom. They were on time, did a great job, and cleaned up afterwards. Would definitely call them for future jobs."

"Steve was quick to contact me and was able to get ready for the job after some pictures and a phone conversation. He and his team arrived at my house on time prepared for the job. They were very considerate of my floors (which they kept clean) and didn't waste any time. They installed a new electrical outlet outside for my hot tub with extra space for my outdoor tv projector. I would recommend Steve to figure it out and get the job done efficiently with a reasonable price!!"

"Bay Line Construction did an outstanding job installing a new electrical outlet and upgrading our panel. The crew was professional, on time, and extremely knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly, worked efficiently, and left the area clean when they were done. The work was done safely, neatly, and passed inspection without any issues. It?s clear they take pride in their craftsmanship and safety standards. I highly recommend Bayline Construction for any electrical work and will absolutely use them again."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You can twist the wires before using a wire nut, but it’s not necessary. Electricians often twist wires before using a wire nut, which can help secure the connection and enhance electrical contact between wires. You can decide whether or not to twist the wires beforehand, or consult a local electrician if you need  professional opinion.

Yes, one wire is always hot on the 3-way switch, meaning it carries the electricity from the power source to the switch. If you have a 3-wire cable in your home, you have two hot wires, or line wires, coming from the power source. Typically, you’d connect the hot black wire from the power source to the traveler wire and the hot red wire from the power source to the first 3-way switch. For the second 3-way switch, you’d then connect the hot black traveler wire to the switch.

This depends on how many outlets you have and the current status of your electrical system. The cost to ground an outlet clocks in at $75 to $480 per outlet, so multiply that by the number of outlets in your home to arrive at a rough estimate. However, this is for simple projects with no obvious issues with the system. Your final bill could vary widely from your calculations.

Sprinkler valves typically have 16 AWG or 18 AWG wires. AWG, or American Wire Gauge, is the standard measurement for wire gauge sizing in the U.S. The gauge is the thickness of the wire, with higher AWG numbers indicating thinner wires. You can find the gauge measurement in your sprinkler system’s user manual or on the sprinkler manufacturer’s website.

A GFCI outlet can be 15A or 20A. The average American home power outlet is 15A.
