At Cape Design & Build, or CDAB, we typically get business through word of mouth. That’s because we meticulously perform at the most conscientious level possible while maintaining respect for homeowners, their families, property and neighbors. Our work would speak for itself but we have plenty of references to do that. Also, pictures are available. We are a small business that has been licensed, insured and fulfilling contracts since 2001. Since starting work in lower Delaware in 2014, we have done a lot of subcontracted work, and are now stepping back into the market as a general contractor. Specializing in CUSTOM improvements, both exterior and interior. Specifically: motorized / manual awnings, Louvered pergola- roofs, aluminum shade structures, patio rooms and screen room conversions.

"Our kitchen flooring was replaced with LVP Josh and Andrew did an excellent job. They’re perfectionists looking at the details and going above and beyond. We’ve had them work for us previously and would hire them again. We highly recommend them."

From Conventional To Extraordinary, The Possibilities are unlimited. Fabric offers the flexibility to respond to any cover and/or signage situation. But it takes more than a vast selection of materials to make a satisfied customer and a successful project. Through our combined locations and experience, Carroll Awning Company provides innovative craftsmanship, superb service, competitive pricing and unfailing attention to details in order to deliver a product that exceeds expectations.

"It went well, The representative Joe Rayman explained me more about awning because I do not know about awning He shows examples of awning that they put around, they installed it in one day, They were very professional and the awning looks nice. Done two repairs but they are always there to repair the awning."

"First of all that me begin with what we had done. Tyler, a rep from the company came out to give us an estimate on a sunroom. June 17th 2024 and after we decided on a four season room, we asked him if it could be done by Christmas and he said yes but after the contract signing we would have to pay a 40% deposit so they can get a project manager assigned and proceed with final measurements and ordering materials. We had an existing screen house so we did not need a roof, but we wanted the floor, which was deck boards, to be demoed. Phil, our project manager came out and proceeded to tell us that the roof and screen house was added later after the house was built, I told him no and I have the blueprints to prove it but he still insisted. THAT SHOULD OF BEEB A RED FLAG THERE He said we need approval from our HOA, so as not to hold things up I called the president of our HOA and he e-mailed it over and I printed it off for him and still Phil said he needed more even though the HOA president said that is all he needed. ANOTHER RED FLAG Long story short it went down hill after that. I called in July to see if they ordered materials and was told they were still waiting on our HOA. There again wasted tine HOA said that is all he needed.Never heard anything so September I called and Phil said he was waiting on the permit and never mentioned he was having trouble, I ended up calling not only the Jeff Shockey from the permit office, but FEMA as well, at this point I wanted to cancel but we gave our second deposit, this time 50% so that they could order materials which Phil said they didn't but Shanna, the production manager, said they did. When we finally got things under way we thought the worse was behind us but not so. There was the inside that needed caulking, J-channel they damaged and needed replaced, around the flooring needed the caulking, the outside had fraying around some of the windows and the floor was never leveled when they replaced it, SO WHY DID WE HAVE THEM DEMO IT if they were not going to make it level. Then with the hardware, said it only comes it black, because initially we wanted white door, told we could get brushed nickel handle but would have to have black hinges but Shanna said they could have then sanded blasted but we would have to pay for them, when I mentioned that they would not get the 10% the owner got on the phone and was not very nice but after his blow up he said he would do me a favor and have it done. Then the threshold of door was all bent and they tried to blame us for that, than the door black installation was caught and the bottom of door frame was scratch to the metal, instead of ordering a new door they want to take it apart and we said we paid $28,005 for a new sunroom and expected them to make it right and all they came back with was threats about putting a mechanics lein on our property. We called contractors in Md. that put SunSpace sunrooms in and they could not believe the problems we are having and on top of that we had neighbors over and they pointed out a dent in the corner wall which Phil must of over looked when he was taking pictures. There were not many reviews out there for their sunrooms only the awnings and as of this review, 2/12/25 we have heard nothing from them."

Classic Copper Works uses time honored German copper smith techniques handed down from father to son and passed on to our highly skilled artisans. We specialize in the fabrication of custom copper & bronze products and other metal specialties. WE DO NOT OFFER REPAIR SERVICES OF ANY KIND. Additional phone number - (888) 908-5339.

"Ordered and paid for custom awning that was to take 5 weeks. Its now been 16 weeks and still waiting. Owner is at best noncommunicable and at worst, rude. I'm now wondering if this is a scam and not a real business."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on material type, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or gutters.

On average, awning costs range from $1,400 to $4,400. The low end of the cost range can be around $100 up to $7,500 on the high end. Cost factors include the type of awning, size, and location. Portable awnings are the most affordable and DIY-friendly to install, costing $100 to $400. Larger, motorized awnings tend to be more solidly built, ranging in price from $2,000 to $3,500.

It’s best to keep your awning retracted if winds are 25 miles per hour or more to make sure your awning doesn’t sustain irreparable damage due to wind. Some awnings can take winds up to 30 miles per hour without any damage, but it’s best to consult the manufacturer’s guidance. A good rule of thumb is if it’s too windy for you to comfortably stand outside, it’s time to bring the awning in.

Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.

Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.

The main disadvantage of an awning window is that you can’t use it to escape in an emergency. Another disadvantage of awning windows is that they can get dirty quicker than other types of windows that don’t open outward, especially if you keep them open when it’s raining or snowing. You can hire a local window replacement installer to decide if an awning window is right for your home.
