"Alex and his crew did a beautiful job on our existing deck floor. They were professional and courteous. I would have given them a Five Star Rating, but my contract also included installing one window shutter which had to be special ordered. Our deck floor was completed and the final payment was paid before the window shutter arrived. I called Southside Construction several times for someone to come back to hang my window shutter and complete the contract, but to no avail."

"Leo of M&L Landscaping and Construction took a look at the job and knew it wasn’t going to be easy. He quoted and we ultimately agreed to go forward. I provided a down payment and about a week later he and his team arrived on site, manually excavated holes to pour concrete piers and poured the concrete. After cure time, his team installed Lally columns and necessary supporting beams and the job was done. Leo’s team stayed on task and were very committed to finishing the job professionally. Great, hard-working team and very professional."

"I couldn't be more pleased with the work done AB Soldier Concrete! From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and very efficient. They installed a beautiful new walkway for us, and it turned out even better than we imagined. The quality of the concrete work is top-notch—level, durable, perfectly pitched and finished. Daniel is a true craftsman! The crew was punctual, kept the area clean, and completed the project on time. I was especially impressed with how they paid attention to the small details, ensuring everything was done with precision. They didn’t even mind handling some add on work at the last minute for a very reasonable added cost. If you're looking for reliable and skilled concrete experts, look no further. AB Soldier Concrete just might be the best in the business!"

"I had an excellent experience with Bailey Brothers. They proactively contacted me after my service magic request and come out the same day to give me an estimate. I had already received a few other quotes and BBCC came in at the best rate and were willing to negotiate the price a little. They completed the job the next day and my sidewalk looks fantastic. I would recommend Bailey Brothers to anyone looking to have concrete work completed and will most likely use them again in the future when necessary."

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

The average cost for a welding project is about $300, with typical costs ranging from $125 to $490. However, prices can be as low as $125 for very small jobs or exceed $1,200 for large or complex projects. Welders typically charge an hourly rate between $65 and $150, depending on their experience, and many charge a minimum fee to cover overhead and travel expenses. The total cost is influenced by several factors, including labor, the cost of materials like metal rods and shielding gas, the type of metal being welded, the project's size and complexity, and your geographic location. For a precise quote, it's best to ask a local welder for an estimate based on your specific project.

Welders use a variety of methods in their trade. Different types of welding are better suited for different purposes and contexts. For example, stick welding is a versatile form suitable for most metals and alloys. The most common types of welding include:

  • Stick welding: $100–$1,000

  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Gas welding: $150 and up

  • Forge welding: $15–$25 per hour

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.
