"They did an excellent job of removing an overgrown arborvitae in front of my home in May 2023. Before I was finished taking notes from a phone call to request recommendations from Angi.com, Mike called me right away! He was pleasant and very professional, taking time to ask me about the tree, my surrounding landscape and address any questions that I had. Within a few hours, he was at our home to provide a quote and do an overview of the service. On the morning of the appointment, they arrived bright and early, keeping us updated as they removed the tree, ground the stump and carefully repositioned some stones and other decorative garden items we had in that area. Since it’s hard to predict the fall’s timing, it’s important to cut down a dead tree quickly and avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.
