"They responded to the listing right away. I did not have to wait for a proposal for the work they gave a written proposal on the spot. They scheduled the job within a few days. Cleaned all debris from cutting trees from ground and pavement. Professional trucks and equipment and several crew members were used on site. Showed business license on spot, called in commercial liability insurance and received by email next day and filled out 4-9 form on spot prior to payment. Arrived on time and finished in estimated time. 4 large, tall trees were removed from a precarious location between two warehouse buildings, (on a deep slope and only 10 feet between buildings), and intermingled with cables and electric lines, with the trees that grew up along side chain link fence and over top branches over both roof tops of building. The job was done in 3 1/2 hours! Their price beat every one else's price. I took 4 estimates from different contractors, two from Angi's list, which were the best prices and competitively bid the other two were called from other sources,(advertising in mail), and they quoted more then double and said it would take them 2 days to complete the work! I am beyond pleased with the job they did and I highly recommend them. I will be using Golden Tree Services again!"

Small jobs welcome

"Crimson Bay did a beautiful job cleaning up my existing landscaping areas. They took out the old stones & washed them. They pulled up the old plastic & leveled out the ground underneath, removed moss from the concrete wall, added a weed deterrent, laid down new landscaping paper, & put the cleaned stones back & added edging. They were professional, polite, & worked diligently. I thought the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend them."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.

The depth of tree roots depends on the species. Trees like oaks and maples can have root systems that grow down 20 feet or more. However, trees that grow in shallow soils will have roots that go only a few feet down. Research how your tree species grows in your climate area to estimate root depth.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

In nature, there are many things that can cause a tree to die, including diseases, insects, and natural disasters such as fires or droughts. Non-natural methods of killing a tree include herbicides or manual intervention, such as cutting it down. Consult a tree removal professional about your options for naturally killing a tree.
