"Very well!! Brian did a great job installing 4 custom blinds in my home. Brian measured the rest of our widows and offered sound advice on how to accurately order blinds for them. I highly recommend Brian for his handyman services."

Customers say: Quick response

"Elvin is great. He fixed my wood double front doors and applied paint that I had picked out, as well as new handles/lock. He took his time, was very polite, and made sure everything was in order before in left. My front doors look amazing. Will be hiring him again for more work around the house. Also, his pricing was very reasonable and on point for the amount of repair and painting work he did."

"I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"I hired Martin to install a storm door and again to replace broken cement sidewalk blocks and install drainage under the sidewalk from the down spout. Both times the work was done expediently, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. Mitchell Vasquez, the owner, and his workers are a delight to work with; reliable, respectful, responsive to the job and other concerns. I highly recommend this company for handyman and any other work for which he indicates he can do."

"Totally awesome experience. My husband has Parkinson's disease and had done a lot of damage to our home. I had 3 large holes in the walls, torn up woodwork and damage to doors. In addition to repairing the damage, he shored up some walls and, installed 4 new railings to make it easier for my husband to get around and prevent future falls. He also installed kickplates to strengthen some doors. He offered great suggestions. He did the work within the time frame he promised and under budget. Very professional and knows his craft well. It is no wonder that he receives 5 star rating from his customers!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Chimneys should either be sealed or waterproofed, which is different from sealing off—closing at both ends—a chimney. Waterproofing and sealing are both crucial steps to take to prevent water damage and the chimney leaking inside the house. While waterproofing is more comprehensive, both help safeguard your chimney, extending its life span and preventing expensive repairs.

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches, often due to loose connections, exposed wiring, or overheating, can cause sparking or arcing. If you hear a crackling, popping, or hissing sound when you use the switch, it indicates live electricity arcing inside, which is a significant hazard that can ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, turn off the power to that circuit at the breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.

Yes, fire extinguishers eventually expire. However, the good news is that a properly stored fire extinguisher can last a decade or longer. They don’t have an expiration date on the canister, but you can check the manufacturing date on the “UL” nameplate near the classification information. Maintenance will also give your fire extinguisher longevity. Check the gauge at the top of the extinguisher every month. You'll want to make sure the gauge needle is in the green section, and if a hose or nozzle has been used or damaged, you need to replace it.

Signs that your dryer is about to catch fire include a burning smell or the dryer and the clothes getting hotter than usual. If this happens, turn the dryer off immediately and call a repair professional. Another less urgent sign is that your clothes are taking longer to dry than normal. If this is the case, check the lint trap, vent, and duct to make sure they are all clean. If they are, you may need to call a pro to find the source of the issue.

A spark arrestor is not the same as a chimney cap. Both sit on the top of the chimney. However, the cap keeps debris from entering the chimney, and the spark arrestor’s primary function is to prevent burning embers from escaping. Some spark arrestors are integrated into the chimney cap, and others are installed separately.
