"Chimney experts was very professional in both scheduling and the job. Al was very thorough to not only look at the chimney, but also to stay with me until we had fully built a fire and had it burning long enough to run a full test of the appliance. Would highly suggest for inspection and installation- they know the business well."

Small jobs welcome

"Alex put in a patio and fire pit where we used to have a pool. Alex met us at a paver showroom and helped us pick out the style and color paver that worked for us. He is very personable and wants to ensure you get exactly what you are looking for. The team was incredibly efficient and the whole thing took only 2 days. We highly recommend Alex and even referred him to my parents who are now getting a patio done by him as well. Would definitely hire Alex again in the future."

"We hired Shamrock to clean our chimney and that's what they were going to do. Big change in plans when they saw that we'd had a chimney fire that we didn't even know about. They took out the old metal flue and installed a new one. This involved taking the Jotul insert apart. Excellent job done professionally by very nice men. We were very pleased, from Jen, the woman who set up the appointment to the end of the job. Tonight we are warm and SAFE thanks to Shamrock."

"after a botched siding and window job by a big box home improvement store that we had problems with after only 14 years. we got 3 estimates from local home improvement contractors. we went with sensible home products. the owner jeremy came to our house and in detail explained the steps involved in siding and window installation. he was very detailed in explaining all the work to be done including new walkway new steps window trim etc. this is obviously a big investment in our house and we wanted to hire a company we felt took pride in their reputation and work. after only a couple of days working on our house we were extremly confident in the work and skill we saw. we could see the crew working on our home were very skilled and trained right. when they got done siding our house with prodigy insulated siding and beautiful harvey tribute windows, and installing the best looking window picture frame trimwork i have seen on any house we were blown away at the transformation our house had gone through. then when the stone paver walkway and stone face steps capped with bluestone and nice white railings were done, our house looked better than i ever thought we could imagine. along with new doors and rerouting existing conduits on outside walls of house into wall cavities for a much cleaner look. we thought we had to live with those conduit pipes attached through our siding. Choosing sensible home products and jeremy the owner and his excellent crew that performed the work on our home was the best decision we made in owning 2 houses over the last 31 years. we are proud of our house now and have recieved compliments from neighbors and some people we dont even know. we would hire them again in a heartbeat thats how good and talented they are. thank you jeremy and your crew for all you did!!! sincerely joe and alane."

"Repaired and rebuilt front door brick steps and added 1-1/2â thick bluestone step treads. Did an excellent job and were very prompt and conscientious with their work. They were also low bid of four bids we received. Highly recommend AAAA+"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches, often due to loose connections, exposed wiring, or overheating, can cause sparking or arcing. If you hear a crackling, popping, or hissing sound when you use the switch, it indicates live electricity arcing inside, which is a significant hazard that can ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, turn off the power to that circuit at the breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.

Fire sprinkler systems give your home’s value a boost. Potential home buyers are looking for a safe place to settle, and a well-maintained sprinkler system can provide peace of mind. Plus, some homeowners insurance policies offer discounted rates for homes with this type of built-in system, thanks to the decreased risk of fire.

No, it is not safe to use an outlet that sparked. A spark from an outlet could indicate a short circuit, loose or frayed wiring, or other serious damage. Continuing to use an outlet that sparks can increase the risk of electrical shock, electrical fires, and other hazards. It's important to turn off the power to the outlet at the circuit breaker if possible and avoid using the outlet until a licensed electrician has inspected and repaired it.

Yes, there are regulations on using wood stoves, particularly concerning emissions and installation standards. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets emission limits for wood stoves to ensure they burn cleaner and more efficiently. Additionally, local building codes may have specific requirements for installation and venting, so it's essential to check with local authorities before installing or upgrading your stove.

Yes, you can close off a fireplace both temporarily and permanently with extremely wide price ranges. Temporary solutions involve fireplace plugs that can be inflated to block air and deflated to open the fireplace, covers, and boards. Permanent methods of shutting off fireplaces usually involve bricking up the fireplace or covering it with drywall. No matter the method, it’s probably best to hire a professional.
