"Kurt did an excellent job repairing our windows and support beams. He is highly detail-oriented and able to match woodworking styles and colors. Kurt was able to repair extensive rot damage and made the windows look better than they did before. He is very tidy and always communicated very well. He is very friendly and pleasant, and upfront with what’s going on. I would recommend him without hesitation."

"i desperately needed gutter cleaning the day before a major storm. I spoke with Dave initially and he worked with me to make it possible and sent out his crew by the afternoon to my house. His crew was so professional and worked very hard to make sure that all the work was done for me and they cleaned up and got rid of all the mess. This company could not have been nicer and helpful. I highly recommend them and am thankful that I found their business."

"After interviewing several companies and getting quotes, we were most convinced of the combination of quality and value offered by Mull Brothers. After working with them, we saw that our decision was the right one. They performed all the work very well and in the time frames they had estimated and stayed available for any questions we had after the job was completed. We are very happy with the results and happy that we hired them."

After you’ve spoken with your contractor and agreed on a project, they’ll draw up blueprints, or plans, that the construction crew will use. The blueprint process can take between four and six months to complete. While this can seem like a long time, remember that the architect must communicate with your municipality to determine codes, communicate with you as the homeowner with any changes or adjustments, and coordinate with the construction crew.

If you simply remodel your home or add an addition, the time to draw up the plans will be shorter since fewer permits and surveys are required. Even still, it’s best to plan for a few months for the architect to complete this part of the project.

Once your project has commenced, most residential drawings are completed within 3-5 weeks. Commercial projects generally take longer.

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.

Regular meetings, reviewing drafts, and providing input on materials help align the project with your vision.

Yes, professionals can offer design advice and material selections that complement existing architecture.

If your project is complex, it may make sense to hire an architect to draw plans. An architect might also be a good person to hire if you want to ensure your plans adhere to building codes and regulations.
