"Jeremy and I are birthday friends now! We designed a plan to accomplish a budget friendly overgrowth maintenance yard project that accommodated both of us. He and his crew were empathetic to my current situation and passing of my brother. Also, that no other companies either never called or did not show. Jeremy and Tom & the crew were diligent, hardworking, motivated, and committed to detail. A few incidents with lighting I did not know I had to point out was quickly rectified. I already have plans to have Woodland Solutions maintain my property because of my satisfaction with them snd their overall work ethic. Budget friendly and very compassionate people. I highly recommend them!"

"Thom installed a white vinyl fence in our backyard. He and his crew installed the fence in two days and they did a great job. I met with 3 other fencing companies. Thom had the most affordable quote. I would hire him again."

"OUTSTANDING!!!!! Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional!! The men they sent to do the actual install were clearly hard working and competent. With the exception of a brief lunch break, these guys worked non-stop........and this was a 3 day job!! There was no fooling around, talking on cell phones, etc. And the finished product was far superior to what had been installed 20 years ago by a different fence company. Highly recommend these wonderful folks if you want a well done, pro job!!"

"From the moment I met Jose he was professional, following up on the appointment date and time. When I arrived we discussed the details as he took notes on exactly what I wanted. With 15 minutes I had a detailed quote and Jose clearly explained the contracting and payment options. I passed the quote on to my kids who currently do not live in state. Jose answered all their questions and sent photos of the materials they use. Upon contracting, Jose kept in touch with installation details and timing. He was able to start and finish the product much sooner than anticipated. He was present when installation started and proudly introduced his son who owns the business and does the work with helpers. This insured quality control throughout. The installation was done as expected and the project was finished in less than 2 days despite excessive heat conditions. Upon completion detailed photos were sent to me and the home owners. Our expectations were exceeded. This is a company with integrity and pride in their work. Communications were excellent. I would highly recommend Always Done Right Fencing."

"I highly recommend Rivers Construction for your next home improvement project. Dan and Janel are wonderful people and easy to work with. They come when they say they’re going to, keep me informed with regard to the work that is involved as well as the cost. They both have great work ethics, pay attention to detail and stand by their work. I’m very happy with the work they've done for me over the past year. Dan and Janel are the best and you will not be disappointed."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Some types of snow fences may work for keeping Fido in your yard. The openings can be small enough to prevent a dog from escaping. However, you want to make sure the openings aren’t susceptible for them to get stuck. While some types may contain the pup, the fence will require regular inspection and maintenance. It’s best to discuss which type of snow fence is ideal for your needs with a pro.

Whether you need a permit to build or install a fence depends on several factors, including your location, the fence's height, its placement in your yard, and the materials used. In many cities and highly populated areas, a permit is required, especially for fences taller than 6 feet. Conversely, rural areas may have fewer restrictions. Typically, backyard privacy fences 6 feet or shorter do not require a permit, while front yard fences often have a lower height limit, sometimes as low as 3.5 feet. There can also be exceptions for properties in mixed residential-commercial zones. It's best to check with your local building inspection or zoning department to understand the specific requirements, height restrictions, and location rules for your area. A professional fence installer can help you navigate this process and often secure the necessary permits for you, though this may extend the project timeline.

Costs depend on material quality, fence length and height, installation complexity, and customization choices, but they average $20-$40 per linear foot.

Regular maintenance for wire fencing includes annual inspections for rust or damage, tension adjustments every two to three years, and immediate repair of any breaks or loose sections. You should also regularly check the fence posts for stability, particularly after severe weather, and make sure to remove any vegetation growing along the fence line.

No, fence posts aren’t always set in concrete. If you don’t want to use concrete footings for your posts, expanding foam is a popular alternative. Expanding foam and concrete each have certain pros and cons. For instance, foam is easier to install and more sustainable, but concrete is sturdier and less expensive.
