"Nelson did an outstanding job restoring the Marmiline pieces in our bathroom. He was very meticulous and took his time making sure that he removed the stains and scratches in them. He is extremely knowledgeable in tile restoration. Periodically, he would have my husband and I look at his work to see if we were happy with how it was turning out. I highly recommended M&N Stone Restoration and Repair LLC!"

"They fixed a retaining stone wall. I had no idea how long it was going to take. It only took one and a half days. They work fast and efficiently and the wall looks better than it has for more than 60 years. Their price is extremely reasonable. I talked with Marco about doing other jobs that need to be done for this house and he said they could do them all. And his prices again were reasonable. When I am ready to have these other projects done, I will definitely call him."

"We moved into a new home and hired Andy to remodel our master bathroom and he ended up doing this, our 1/2 bath, full bath, and created a home theater room from an unfinished space above our garage. He even added some molding in an office, since we thought he would do a much better job than what we could do. He was very accommodating, had ways to fix unexpected issues, pricing was reasonable, showed up every day (unheard of these days), and provided a very nice final product. When there was a delay in one area, he and his team would work in a different room. They were very efficient and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend for any home improvement project and will use them in the future."

"Plow and Property has completed several projects for us on a very old and neglected rental property and we are so glad we found them. The first job was a vacant house clean out. The house was left in truly appalling condition. The cleaning crew worked and worked and worked so hard and so long I was telling them to stop. They made a filthy house fresh and pleasant again. I would not have thought it could be restored to such a fresh condition. The next job was replacing the old casement windows which were rotted wood frames in crumbly 1950â s cement. They not only repaired the window foundation area but other foundation ugly spots as well and put in beautiful new sturdy basement sliding windows. They also re-dug and replaced the adjoining window wells which were undoubtedly the original wells and were falling apart. Regraded the foundation area around the wells and reseeded without being asked. While they were in the basement doing the windows they cleaned a bunch of that up too so itâ s no longer a horror movie waiting to be filmed down there. Everything they did was simply above and beyond. Wesley Vercosa has returned my many questions and concerns with lots of information and smiles, bless him. My retired husband worked in construction for many years and he is happy and impressed with the work. We are planning more work with them already."

"We couldn?t be happier with our bathroom remodel! From start to finish, the entire process was professional, and beyond our expectations. The attention to detail, craftsmanship, and communication throughout the project were truly outstanding. Every step was handled with care, and the final result completely transformed our bathroom into a beautiful, modern space. Tony was respectful of our home, and clearly takes pride in his work. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and it absolutely shows in the finished product. If you?re looking for someone who delivers high-quality work and an stress-free experience, I would highly recommend him. We are absolutely thrilled with our new bathroom!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

If you’re looking for a durable tile for a shower floor, consider porcelain, stone, or vinyl tiles. Each of these options, when installed correctly, will stand up well to everything from water and moisture to the impact from a dropped bottle of body wash. These materials are also easy to clean and maintain, making them popular options for shower floors.

You can let the tile sit without grout. Don’t panic if there’s a delay between installing the tiles and grouting. A substantial stoppage isn't a problem, provided you keep the tile surface clear of dust and debris. Also, avoid walking over less stable ungrouted floor tiles as they are more prone to premature cracking and shifting.

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.

Tiling can be DIY with the right tools and skills, but challenges like ensuring evenness and appropriate adhesion often warrant professional handling.

Glass tiles are among the most difficult to install. This is because their transparency makes the adhesive visible, and any imperfections on the opposite side are also likely to be visible. Glass tiles also must be handled carefully during installation, as they are prone to scratching. For these reasons, glass tiles often require professional installation to get the most out of their beauty and unique look.
