"the insulation they recommended saved me about 5000kw a year. the amount of money i am saving is far more the insulation payment on my Eversource bill. No money cost to me out of pocket and my electric bill dropped quite a bit. best move i ever did."

"We had been living in our house for 5 years and although the kitchen was a new addition, every winter my wife & I had noticed how noticeably the temperature differentiated especially after the winter of 2014/15.  And because it was a dirt floor with some wood and old construction debris strewn about.  I was not so keen on staying down there.  In doing my own investigation there was some piping and insulation under floor.
So when investigating estimates we called a number of "green" companies.  Out of the three companies that came, only Frank Petrullo with Eco Green Solutions, noticed the mold and a water leak coming from fridge line.  He took the time to show me where the water was coming, how mold had proliferated on the wood floor joists and beams.  The dirt floor was somewhat moist and light was visible from outside along foundation rim contributing to the mold and moisture in crawl space.  He explained each of our options and detailed the steps in sections of each estimate.
We opted to have a plumber fix the water leak, then franks crew came in, cleaned up the mold, then layed down the crawl space membrane, finally insulating floor & rim joist.  All in under two days.  The crew showed up on time, left the open sections of the house clean, and we immediately noticed a difference in kitchen and rest of house.  Walking around bare foot in kitchen is more comfortable, the kitchen is less noisy, and house humidity is maintained.

"Joe did a great job on this, our dining room was a add on to connect the original home and the garage and had no insulation and boy in the winter it was unusable as well as the kitchen basically (the best part of the house). Joe came and drilled small holes in the attic floor that they sealed up later to allow for blowing in the insulation. And they cleaned up well. we have a 20 month old but there was nothing left over for the baby to put in her mouth. Joe is great! Our dining room is toasty and the kids can play in there year-round Plus they are were less than half of the expensive "efficiency" guys PSEG sent over. Those providers wanted to charge $10,000+ for basically the same job."

"Absolutely I would use this provider again, as a matter of fact just recommended them to a friend of mine and actually to quote her text message she sent me on Tuesday "Just had the door installed, love it, love it, love it thank you so much for the recommendation.  I'm telling, their a phenomenal company.  Their service, no, no they really are.  The professionalism of the installers was incredible.  Then the installer put something in to my back, he came by himself, he not only sealed it as much as he could, he gave us his personal cell phone number and said if there's any problem, to call him back the next day.  And this is a guy that's an employee, it's not even, the owner of the company came to give us our price and our measurements and all of that, so initially I dealt with the owner, then I dealt with the service foreman at the office who was punctual, he followed up and gave me details and then the workers that came.  It's just from soup to nuts beginning I have never, and I am calling them back for additional work.  Their workers were professional, prompt, courteous, clean with what they were doing.  Went beyond what they needed to do as workers.  The owner when he came to do his estimate was very explicit in what he was explaining, didn't try to push products on us, tried to work with us,  tried to feel out what it was that we needed.  The support staff in the office was very helpful in making sure that the job got completed in the timely and efficient manner.  I, personally, I mean you called about a good topic because I usually don't have good experiences and this was just, I felt comfortable referring it and the friend I actually referred them to is a very picky type person and she actually had just been finished with another type of contractor  that redid her kitchen and said yeah the job was okay, so to see the message from her going I love it, love it, love it is I am telling you from beginning to end.  Her experience was even, she was asking to have some other jobs done and he was even able to give her decent referrals for other jobs as well."

"They arrived on time. They offered assistance with moving the furniture out of their work area. The workers made sure to cover the floors and all the furniture before they began their work. The work was completed in two days as predicted. They forgot to include one of the entryways ceilings In the contract. I mentioned this to the worker and after a phone call to Ari they proceeded to do the work. Although I would have liked to see Ari at some point during the insulation process, I believe the work was done well. We will wait for this coming winter to give our final verdict.

Insulation questions, answered by experts

It's essential to use insulation materials specifically designed for air ducts. Common types of duct insulation materials include fiberglass, foam board, and reflective foil. These insulation materials have the right properties to withstand the temperature and airflow conditions within the ductwork. Using the appropriate insulation not only ensures efficient temperature control but also prevents potential safety hazards or the release of harmful particles into the air.

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.

Minimal, mainly occasional checks for damage or mold in extreme conditions.

The primary reason that insulation saves you money over time is that it reduces your energy bills by making your home more energy efficient. A crucial part of an insulation system is a properly installed vapor barrier. Local building codes dictate whether your insulation requires a vapor barrier based on the type installed. While some high-quality wool insulation may not technically need a vapor barrier, most municipalities still require one to meet code.

Fiberglass is considered dangerous only if your skin comes into contact with it or if you breathe in any fiberglass particles. This is because fiberglass is literally made of tiny fibers of glass that can cut your skin and your organs. While there aren’t many long-term effects, it’s still important to take all the proper safety precautions when working with fiberglass.
