"Eddie was great to work with from start to finish. To be honest, he wasn't the highest quote, nor was he the lowest quote. We picked Eddie because of how thorough his explanations were. During our first consultation: Unlike many of the other companies that we meet with, Eddie took the time to listen to our concerns and explain the entire process. He stayed as long as was necessary to make sure we felt that our questions were all answered. We liked him right away because of his thoroughness as well as how personable he was. It didn't seem like he was in it to "nickel and dime" us, rather, he explained two scenarios that could have happened- a bar price, and then a more costly one if the base of our driveway wasn't up to par. Right before the job: Eddie called us to give us a couple of days notice prior to ripping up the driveway. He was punctual with both the day and time that he said he would come. He was able to take out the driveway on a Tuesday, and then came back to repave on the Monday after, so we ended up being unable to drive on it for a week and a half (need to wait three days after). We thought that timeframe was very reasonable. Even after Eddie got paid and finished the job, he still spent time explaining his work to my husband. He also discussed the care and maintenance. He took pride in his work and seemed to really stand by it. In the end, we were charged the base price. We are very happy with our choice of Eddie and Blue Diamond. "Hiring E B Asphalt was the best decision we ever made. We have a very long driveway that was in tough shape. Rick came over to look at the job, answered all of the questions we had, and made several suggestions on how the job should be done. His knowledge and experience was quite evident. Feeling comfortable, we contracted with Rick to do the driveway. Within a week, Rick and his crew were at our house removing the old driveway, removing stone that would affect the new driveway, adding base gravel, rolling it multiple times, and preparing the landscape around the new driveway so that water run off would not damage the new driveway. By the next week (even with a few days delay due to rain), our brand new driveway was laid, and we could not be more than happy with how it looks. During the process, Rick was more than responsive to our questions. Even after the work was completed, Rick called to make sure we were happy with the outcome. "I cannot express enough praise and appreciation for a job well done. The front of my house now looks beautiful. After removing the old asphalt driveway and concrete walkway and stoops, pavers were installed on the driveway with a Belgian block apron as well as pavers on the walkway with a darker color border around both. Two concrete stoops and stairs were rebuilt, expanding one and topping both with blue stone on top and stone veneer on the sides. "As others have said here on Home Advisor, Vincent and his wife Grecia do outstanding work, communicate better than any other contractor I've ever hired, and most importantly to me they are quality people. The price was fair and reasonable; they were flexible and super trustworthy. I actually enjoyed having them at my home believe it or not. We needed to tear up an old concrete driveway (~50' x 12') and replace it. Initially we thought we were going to go with asphalt because of the lower cost, but when we discussed the pros and cons with Vincent and compared his quote to those from other companies, we realized AA Outdoor could do a high quality concrete driveway at a price that was comparable to asphalt.
