"Martin and his crew completed ten very involved projects for us today. We are very pleased with the work as it was done in a very professional manner. Martin indicated they could complete the jobs in one day and they accomplished this. The jobs involved power washing, painting, repair of towel bar, grouting, fixing hinges on a door, repair of garage door frame and cleaning of spindles on the porch. We told Martin that we were very happy with the results and would call him in the future for other projects that might be needed. Richard Huckstadt 5/19/26."

"My family has recently switched to a high nutrient-dense diet of mostly veggies and fruits at the recommendation of our doctor. We quickly learned how time consuming washing and prepping produce is and decided to add a prep area to our kitchen, which is no small feat considering it's a galley kitchen in a 1939 cape. We had Gary help us design and install the prep area, which included a 3 basin sink and various cabinets and countertops. This was a project that required out of the box thinking and Gary was the perfect person for the job. He was able to bring our vision to life. He's incredibly passionate about his work and spends time on the details. He was always professional, personable, considerate, reliable, and easy to communicate with. He was meticulous with his work from start to finish. This has been the best experience we have had with working with a contractor in the 11 years we have lived in Fairfield County. We plan to use his services again for future projects and will be recommending him to our friends and neighbors."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

Most contractors do not charge for meetings, but it can depend on the project, mainly if it includes detailed consultations or project planning. For general estimates, homeowners shouldn't expect to be charged. Always ask up front about meeting fees to avoid surprises and ensure you know what’s included in the process.

Absolutely, they tailor their approach to address individual requirements, ensuring satisfaction on every visit.

You can tackle hanging Christmas lights yourself with the right tools, accessories, and a trusted friend or neighbor. You’ll need to purchase a ladder ($100 to $300), clips ($10 to $20), hooks ($10 to $15), and lights ($25 to $100 per string).

Otherwise, you should hire a trusted holiday light installer near you. You’ll pay an average price of $200 to $650, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and safely.

While handypeople do not need to be licensed in many places, you should only hire insured pros for any home improvement work. Your handyperson should have active liability coverage that protects them and you in the case of an error or accident. Furthermore, if they have employees on your property, they should also have workers’ compensation insurance. If you hire an individual or a company that is not insured and they damage your property, have an accident while on the job, or become injured on your property without insurance, you can be held financially liable.

A handyperson is the professional term used to describe professional fixers who can tackle a wide range of general home repairs. Some pros may prefer to use the term handyworker, handyman, or handywoman, so we recommend politely asking your pro how they would like you to identify them during the project.
