"Kurt did a great job and was very efficient. He was able to repair all rot, and at a fraction of the cost of several other estimates. He repaired several window frames and replaced some of the baseboards. I was worried about having to replace siding, but only one small piece had to be replaced. Kurt is a great contractor and is very reliable and honest. We are planning to hire him to do more work on the back of our house."

"Very well!! Brian did a great job installing 4 custom blinds in my home. Brian measured the rest of our widows and offered sound advice on how to accurately order blinds for them. I highly recommend Brian for his handyman services."

"Chris is a wonderful Contractor. He arrived when he said he would and he made the front door and storm door look absolutely beautiful. His work is impeccable! Plus the fact he is easy to talk to and he explained any questions I had. I am very impressed with his knowledge and workmanship! "This was a commercial building that was abandoned and needed ALOT of miscellaneous work and finishing including siding, painting, finish work, decking, etc, etc, etc, Kenny and his crew did a FANTASTIC job at a good price and added a TON of value to me!!!!! I hired him for one job that he did well. Then the painting when the other contractor was fired. Then had him remodel my kitchen and house. I am getting ready to hire him again. I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T SAY ALL THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE LIKE FEW OTHERS AND THIS WILL MAKE HIM UNAVAILABLE FOR ME BECAUSE EVERYONE WILL HIRE HIM."

Customers say: True professional

"We recently had custom built-in bookshelves designed and installed by CT Yankee Crafts, and we couldn't be happier. From start to finish, the experience was an absolute pleasure. Nick was very communicative throughout the whole process, and he listened to our vision, then translated it onto paper and then into a beautiful masterpiece and a focal point in our new home. The best part is filling them up! Watching our book collection find its new home on these gorgeous, sturdy shelves has been so satisfying. It has completely transformed the room into a cozy sanctuary. Highly recommended for any custom woodwork!"

Safety and building integrity are the main reasons for the need to obtain a permit and the subsequent inspections. In some cases, especially cantilevered balconies, your municipality may also require the oversight and signature of a structural engineer.

For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.
