A vintage building has many quirks and sometimes repairs are complicated. They are resourceful problem solvers. Instead of saying that the only way to fix a problem is to buy all new components, they find a way to work with existing components, only buying new parts when necessary. Since they have in-house staff who can handle the work of a variety of trades there are no long waits for, say, an electrician to come. I highly recommend the The Masters Home Improvement company."

The work generally came out very high quality. EUTR is meticulous about the work and listened to exactly what we wanted done for each job. The folks doing the work -- including the subs -- were all friendly and conversational. They answered questions and did good work.

There were, however, a few communication problems. Time frames for completion were not well communicated, for example. None of this was the typical horror story about things running month and months and months too long. But the work was not done quickly, and not even in the time frames I expected.

As many have said, of fast, cheap and good, you can only have two. EUtR is a good price and generally does good work. But EUtR is far from fast. More clear communication on timelines -- and updates when they timelines slip -- would be an improvements.

Unfortunately, the work -- which had been done well to that point, even if slowly -- ended on a very sour note. At the very end (i.e the final afternoon of punchlist work), EUTR damaged some of the new tile work, but did not acknowledge this or offer to fix it. Instead, I had to discover it myself and cancel the final check to ensure that EUTR would come back and fix the damage. I acknowledge that I gave EUtR the final check before *everything* was done -- which was my mistake. But the lack of communication on this score was EUtR's.

EUtR was respectful of my home, was rather careful about the mess (taking time every day to meticulously clean up). Friendly, conversational and meticulous about the work. While not perfect, the combination of price and the quality of the work is hard to find. If you can accept the work taking longer, EUtR is a good choice for a contractor."
