"I highly recommend Certified Chimney of Holtsville. A lightning strike caused damage to my chimney. I needed a new liner as well as a new cement crown and other work done to bring my chimney back up to snuff. The owner, Charles and his two associates (Christian and Christopher) did an outstanding job. They are extremely professional, neat and friendly. They completed the job quickly and the most important thing is that I was given a very decent price. If you need chimney work done, donâ t hesitate to call them."

"Billy was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He replaced the vent for our furnace and extended the chimney. I would recommend this company to anyone based solely on my experience with him and his work!"

"The dispatch service communicated well, called early to inform me Chris probably would not make the agreed service window because of an emergency, however called back shortly after that to say he finished early and could be there within the hour.

Chris showed up promptly and is very friendly and courteous.  Took the time to look at everything, locate and test the problem, put down towels before starting the work and then he spent just as much time thoroughly testing after completing the work to make sure the problem was fixed.

Gave a 10% discount when I told him I found him on Angie's list and mentioned the coupon (did not have it on me).

I am very happy and would call him again.

UPDATE:  I had Chris come back out to look at a damaged pipe I found and tap add an outdoor gas hookup for my grill.  Chris is very honest - he could have easily sold me on an expensive repair but he told me it was a waste line not under pressure so it is in no danger of bursting.  It took him a while to come back out to do the gas work, but it was very well done and I am super happy not dealing with propane bottles - he is worth waiting for.  Tapping the additional gas line off my meter with an emergency shutoff valve cost $375."

"We had to get our plumber to re-route our gas line, but they installed the unit itself. They were prompt, friendly, clean and successful. We are very happy with our new fireplace, especially on cold nights!

"I sent them an email describing the services I needed. Their very prompt response turned down the job because they felt they could not perform what I needed, and said that they were only taking jobs within 25 to 30  minutes from them, due to the increased gas prices."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can lay a gas grill flat during transportation. Laying it flat can help prevent it from moving around the truck during the journey. It’s still advisable to secure the grill with bungee cords, just in case.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.

No. Placing a built-in grill against the house is discouraged due to safety concerns. Building codes and regulations often require a minimum distance (typically 10 feet or more) between a gas grill and any combustible structure, including a house. Placing a grill too close poses a fire hazard and risks damage to the siding or structure, potentially leading to carbon monoxide buildup. It's essential to consult local building codes, follow manufacturer guidelines, and prioritize safety by positioning the grill at a safe distance, ideally in a well-ventilated outdoor kitchen or designated grill area.

Safety precautions include proper ventilation, regular inspections for leaks, and ensuring tanks and fittings are in good condition to prevent accidental release or fire hazards.

Depending on the appliance and labor requirements, costs range from $150 to $500.
