"I hired Ray Page based on very positive online reviews and recommendations from friends. I’m very glad I hired them for the job. They gave me the first appointment of the day to accommodate my schedule. Their technician, Luke, was on time, customer- oriented, courteous and professional. He wore a mask at my request and made sure he kept my rugs and floor coverings clean as he did the work. After reviewing the old install, he explained the process to me and discussed toilets he’d brought to do the job. The quote he provided was competitive and reasonable for replacement with a Kohler model I liked. He removed the old toilet carefully and installed the new one, testing to ensure there were no leaks. He reviewed the new installation with me and asked if I had any questions. The payment option of credit card with email confirmation was simple and fast. The whole job took about 90 minutes which was perfect for me. Thanks, Luke, for the great job you did!"

"We were looking to facelift a small bathroom without a major remodel. TJ did not try to oversell the project (he actually suggested doing less rather than more) and was able to have a custom counter/sink made for a very tricky cabinet base. His crew installed 2 toilets, a light fixture, and a new sink top (including all new plumbing in the cabinet) in less than a day AND in the middle of a pandemic and snowy weather. They laid drop cloths from the front door to the bath, wore masks, and left no clean for me. Communication via email was easy throughout the process and Lisa , in the office, was delightful anytime I had to call. We will definitely reach out to TJ at W.B. Dickenson if we are need of another facelift, a full remodel, or just have some plumbing work to be done!"

"App't was changed twice but it was an outdoor faucet and not an emergency. Lots of talking about a service contract, even though house is 8 yrs old and has all plastic plumbing. My husband was pleased with the quality of the work."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common plumbing practice that can simplify installation and save space. When sharing a vent, it's important that the toilet is located downstream from all other fixtures. You will also need to ensure the vent pipe is large enough to handle the demands of all connected fixtures without compromising its effectiveness. Because requirements can vary, you should always check your local building and plumbing codes. Consulting a qualified plumber is recommended to ensure the vent is properly sized, installed, and adheres to all local regulations.

While gasket-sealed PVC flanges are the type most commonly found in homes, flanges come in a range of different materials, including copper, brass, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum, that pros sometimes secure with glue. If this is the case in your bathroom, the replacement is a job better left to the pros.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

Check connections, clean fixtures, and apply finishing or protective coatings to preserve months' worth of shine and functionality.

Most toilets have a 12-inch rough-in or hole, but some have 10- or 14-inch holes, which means that not all toilets fit all setups. Knowing how to measure the rough-in is essential, so you purchase a toilet that fits the existing drain hole. It can be costly to have the rough-in moved, and most stores don’t accept toilet returns.
