"Ted and Robert arrived, got right t to it and within a few hours we had 2 ceiling fans installed, one which had no existing light so it was a more involved project. They were professional and stuck to their original quote! To say we are impressed is an understatement. We strongly recommend using Connole Electric."

Small jobs welcome

"If you?re looking for an electrician, I can?t recommend him highly enough! As the owner of an investment property, it was very important to me to hire someone who is fully licensed and insured, and he checked every box. He was professional, punctual, incredibly knowledgeable, and had such a friendly personality that he was a pleasure to work with. He took the time to answer all of our questions, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made sure we understood our options without ever making us feel pressured. He helped us complete several small electrical projects that we really needed finished before our twin girls arrive in just a few short weeks, and the quality of his work was outstanding. It?s clear he has a wealth of experience and takes great pride in what he does. One detail that really impressed me was how respectful he was of our home?he even brought his own vacuum and cleaned up thoroughly before he left. We will definitely be using him again and recommend him to friends."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Burlington, keep a non-contact voltage tester, insulated screwdrivers, wire strippers, and a multimeter for safety and troubleshooting. Stock up on wire nuts, GFCI outlet testers, and outdoor-rated extension cords, especially for winter outages. Store all supplies in a dry space to prevent moisture damage, and consider surge protectors to safeguard against power fluctuations common during Burlington’s stormy seasons.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical work in Burlington, plan ahead by confirming which permits are required and allowing time for inspections. Check your home’s existing wiring type, especially if it’s older, and anticipate possible upgrades. Coordinate with your utility provider if power needs to be shut off. Schedule projects around Burlington’s winter weather, and always verify your plans meet current building and electrical codes to prevent setbacks.

Helpful?

In Burlington, electrical contractors often specialize in residential projects like panel upgrades, historic home rewiring, and generator installations, which are common needs in the area. Some focus on commercial work, serving local shops or offices. Emergency electricians provide 24-hour service, which is valuable during storms or outages. Many contractors are familiar with Burlington’s unique housing stock and seasonal demands, offering tailored solutions for local homeowners.

Helpful?

In Burlington, outdated knob-and-tube wiring, missing GFCI outlets in kitchens or bathrooms, and old fuse boxes are warning signs. Watch for flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or outlets that feel warm to the touch. If you notice extension cords used as permanent solutions or see unprofessional repairs, it’s wise to have a licensed electrician inspect your home’s system for safety and code compliance.

Helpful?

When hiring in Burlington, prioritize electricians with experience in local home styles and knowledge of CT electrical codes. Ensure they carry liability insurance and can provide references from Burlington residents. Ask about their familiarity with the town’s permit process and ability to adapt to weather-related delays. Since some contractors serve multiple towns, confirm their response times and request detailed quotes to compare services.
